about our creatives’ network day

This exciting new event is aimed specifically at supporting our local community of makers and artists. This is an opportunity for makers to gain peer to peer learning both through networking, participating in skills based workshops, attending expert-led talks and meeting industry partners who can offer services and support for maker development and growth.

Our aim is to build on Farnham’s reputation as England’s first World Craft Town, ensuring that we stimulate innovation and growth for all makers. We wish to help our creative community have access to expert support in order for them to benefit from the increased investment, retail opportunities and tourism market.

For this event we are looking to team up with partners who are looking for an opportunity to promote their skills and services to a captive audience of makers and small independent businesses. We’re interested in people who can offer expert advice in the following areas:

Social Media, Website Design, Photography, Packaging, Branding, Printers and Framers, Funding specialists, Wholesalers, Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, Gallery owners, Collection Curators and any other assets that will be really useful for our makers and artists.

the venue

Farnham Maltings is an arts and cultural community centre in the heart of Farnham, England’s only World Craft Town. Our 18th century listed building hosts theatre productions, live music, comedy, film, workshops, craft festivals, artist studios and more. From parent and baby classes to students from the University for the Creative Arts to our U3A sessions, the Maltings is a vibrant space enjoyed by all ages within our community.

the location

From its roots as a medieval market town, Farnham has a long history of supporting craft and makers. In 2020, Farnham was awarded World Craft Town status by the World Craft Council in recognition of the town’s ongoing celebration and promotion of craft. In addition to the Maltings, craft is proudly on display in Farnham at the New Ashgate Gallery, the Craft Study Centre and UCA Farnham.

Farnham Maltings is a short two minute walk from the town centre with plenty of public car parks and the rail station only five minutes away. Trains run between Farnham and London Waterloo on a regular service, taking only an hour.
