Farnham Maltings exists to help bring artists, makers and communities together to improve the quality of people’s lives. We are dedicated to providing valuable experiences for everyone in our community and we are especially passionate about being a welcoming and nurturing space for young people and families.
Whether it’s through our theatre shows, craft and creative workshops or museum exhibitions and activities, we programme events which aim to inspire and spark creativity in the minds of our youngest audiences. Farnham Maltings

Farnham Maltings is located in central Farnham, a five-minute walk (0.2 miles) from Farnham station, which offers direct trains to and from London Waterloo, Guildford and Alton. Our pay and display car park provides a central location for parking and is within easy walking distance of the town centre. It has eight bays for Blue Badge holders.

The Museum’s nearest car park is Lower Hart, located next to Waitrose. There is two hour on-street parking outside the Museum, although availability is limited.
Riverside Café at the Maltings

Enjoy delicious lunches in the Riverside Café, homemade by our talented chefs using locally sourced and seasonal produce throughout the year. We also serve kids’ meals and little lunches alongside drinks and Danish pastries which make a perfect treat.

Following the success of last year’s event, we’re delighted to announce that the family festival will return this September. Taking over the Maltings, the day will be full of performances, workshops and drop-in sessions for young people aged 3-15. Entry to the festival is free, but some activities will require advance booking.

Bring Your Own Baby Comedy is the UK’s premier baby friendly comedy club!
Our brilliant comics will be performing their usual adult material, which is why we have a 15-month age limit for our little laughers.

Have fun exploring a range of materials and techniques to produce a collection of coastal themed artworks for an exhibition at the end of the day. For ages 7–16.

A creative design and make workshop created for enthusiastic young problem solvers, inspired by geometric pattern and form. Explore 2D and 3D drawing and model making techniques using a variety of materials. For ages 7–16.

The food trucks are back and serving up mouth-watering street food. Together with a pop-up bar and live music, we have all the elements for a fun festival atmosphere.

Ever wondered how make-up artists on TV and film create such realistic gory effects?
Led by a professional make-up artist, you will learn how to create gruesome bruising and cuts using special techniques from the industry.

‘Create Together’ are fun and creative workshops for you and your little ones. Patches the Clown will make you giggle with her silly magic show whilst teaching you how to spin plates, juggle, and make a balloon dog. For ages 4–7.

Ever been tempted to join the circus? Patches the Clown will teach you her special skills such as Diablo, juggling, and plate spinning. For ages 7–11.

Learn how to create beaded daisies and make them into bracelets, playing with the endless colour combinations you can put together. For ages 6+.

Adapted from Quentin Blake’s classic tale, our new production celebrates the joy of getting outdoors and being active. Featuring live music, puppetry and physical comedy, we celebrate the power of imagination and the importance of resilience.

A charming, light-hearted, non-verbal acrobatic duet. A simple roll of tape transforms from DJ decks to a spyglass and is stretched to create physical barriers and obstacles for the performers to navigate. Suitable for all the family.

Led by a professional theatre-maker, this two-day drama workshop is a chance to immerse yourself in creating a piece of theatre from scratch. For ages 8–12.
