WELCOME
welcome It is impossible to write this introduction without acknowledging the chaotic events unfolding in Ukraine. I have no idea where we will be when this brochure is published, but I know we will do everything we can to ensure that any families seeking refuge in our community will be welcomed here. If it is needed then we will provide space for families to connect, organise and plan for an uncertain future. We are planning a welcoming social event and will host a regular conversation with others to make sure the town’s efforts are coordinated. It has been humbling to see the extraordinary response this community has made, with offers to house families, donate money and collect supplies to send to Ukraine. It is a reminder that people matter most and that we live in a community capable of passion, care and the ability to act collectively. I genuinely believe we are richer for this generosity. We must continue to connect, care for people unlike ourselves and make the best use of our collective resources if we are to adapt to a fast changing world. Gavin Stride Director

Exhibition: 26 July to 16 December 2022 Over the past year, the museum has been working with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation, Hale History Group and Polish School of Surrey to co-curate a pop-up exhibition about each community’s stories. This exciting project allows visitors to learn about the origins of each community, the organisations specific purposes and provide insight into the development of local areas. This Art’s Council England funded project will tour three venues and then be displayed at the museum. WHO WE ARE. WHO WE BECOME.
HAPPY. GENUINE. INSPIRING. Our teachers are pretty special, they believe learning should go beyond the walls of a classroom or the questions on an exam. They believe children need time and space to learn - to build relationships - to find their strengths and their weaknesses - to see the world as full of opportunities, not obstacles. Ultimately, they want their students to enjoy this time and come out strong, happy and ready for anything! Get in touch at hello@frensham.org to find out more.
