welcome We know that the Maltings means many different things to different people. To some it will always be the place that generations of children have learnt tap and ballet. For others it is the annual Beerex festival or coming to the growing theatre programme, or the monthly market, or giving blood, or cinema and the New York Met. And that’s before we describe the workshops in making and singing and learning to play the ukulele. That’s why we try and list everything that happens here without emphasis – in the hope you might stumble across something you hadn’t considered going to. We delight in our range of programme but it presents a challenge in explaining to people new to the town all that we are. What would be great is that, if you are reading this and value what we are doing, you might help us by picking up a second copy next time you are here to share with a neighbour or friend. Maybe then we can continue to show the wider community all that we are. We remain ever passionate about wanting to be inclusive, offering an open door to everyone. Gavin Stride Director

This symbol highlights events that are part of our Dementia Wellbeing programme. Some of these activities are hosted in partnership with other local organisations, and are programmed to better welcome people with dementia and their carers into our building. Events range from an established singing group, a pioneering drama initiative to outreach craft and welcoming new theatre. Visitors are able to enjoy a snack or meal in the Riverside or Foyer before or during events and festivals. More details and opening times available on page 60. Pre-show dining options available in the Riverside CafĂŠ Bar (unless otherwise specified) with this performance. Food is served from 90 minutes before the performance begins. This unique building has a variety of different spaces for hire with capacities ranging from 15â&#x20AC;&#x201C;500. We can offer ideal accommodation for parties, conferences, workshops and performances. Our in-house caterers are able to provide menus to suit every occasion. The Great Hall, Cellar Bar, Barley Room, Tindle Studio, Tannery and CafĂŠ Bar are fully accessible to wheelchair users via the lift and the Great Hall can accommodate up to five wheelchairs. There is a fully accessible toilet and four dedicated parking spaces. Assistance Dogs (UK) are welcome. If you require assistance to enter and leave the building please bring an able-bodied companion, who will be entitled to a complimentary ticket (subject to availability). If you require an induction loop system, or have any other requirements, please inform the box office at the time of booking so we can make your visit more enjoyable.

Producing and commissioning

We run caravan, in partnership with Brighton Festival, as a biennial showcase of new English performance to an international audience. caravanshowcase.org.uk

We work with a number of companies and individual artists in the production of their work, sometimes as a collaboration or in co-production.

We have a sister company in Canada, Theatre Passe Muraille, Toronto with whom we regularly exchange work and develop joint projects.

Touring

We tour our own work and that of our associate companies, support a network of rural venues across Surrey and are continuing to build relationships with small scale theatres and art centres.

We manage and deliver no strings attached â&#x20AC;&#x201C; a grant scheme for the south east region that offers awards between ÂŁ500 and ÂŁ1,000 to help young people, aged between 18 and 25, make their first piece of performance.
