WELCOME

welcome It’s worth marking, in our fiftieth year, that the Maltings is in good health. We are busier than ever, the performance programme goes from strength to strength, the craft festivals are flourishing, the Riverside CafÊ is busy and we have invested significantly in improving the buildings. I want to thank every single person who has contributed to getting us here. It is a self-evident truth that each member of staff, volunteer, board member and audience member has contributed to all that we are now. One of the delights of working from the Maltings is that we are not a purpose built state-of-the-art building, which allows us the freedom to respond to the changing expectations of our community and a fast changing world. So this summer we are launching outdoor cinema in the courtyard, continuing with Bring Your Own Baby Comedy each month and starting a Farnham Men in Sheds project. I am genuinely excited about where we might go and what we might become over the next half century. And if you can join us on Saturday 11 May to celebrate the first fifty years then so much the better. Gavin Stride Director

Farnham Maltings works with south east-based artists and companies to help make the best work possible. In support of craft and fine artists we manage a range of studio spaces and offer training and networking opportunities. For theatre companies we provide one-to-one advice sessions, residency and R&D space, tour booking and financial management. Visit our theatre microsite: theatre.farnhammaltings.com Producing and commissioning

International

We work with a number of companies and individual artists in the production of their work, sometimes as a collaboration or in co-production.

We run caravan – a programme of work designed to encourage England-based theatre makers to think and work internationally. caravan encompasses a biennial showcase in partnership with Brighton Festival, on-going and one-off projects with international partners and professional development opportunities for artists.

Touring We tour our own work and that of our associate companies, support a network of rural venues across Surrey and are continuing to build relationships with small scale theatres and art centres. We deliver house – a programme designed to meet the ambitions of venues to increase audiences and improve the range, quality and scale of theatre being presented across the south east of England. housetheatre.org.uk

Different. Innovative. Remarkable. We really pride ourselves on being that bit different. We offer a place where children can grow and find their own strengths through a balanced, diverse and individual education. We believe strongly in the power of creative thinking, empathy and courage - readying our students to be, not just exam takers, but forward thinkers and problem solvers.
