unravel... a festival of yarn programme
Fri 24, Sat 25 & Sun 26 February 2023
Celebrating unravel’s 15th anniversary
We are thrilled to welcome you to unravel and invite you to join our special celebration, as 2023 marks the festival’s 15th anniversary. In true unravel style, we will be embracing all things yarn making, from knitting and crochet to spinning and weaving.
Whether this is your first time, or you have been a fan of the festival for many years, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support.
We are delighted to have 75 independent producers, hailing from across the UK and Europe, all under one roof in our curated marketplace. This presents a fantastic opportunity to meet leading names from the knitting fraternity and discover new emerging hand dyers and designers. Many of our exhibitors have marked the occasion with special anniversary releases, so do keep an eye out for those as you browse the stalls. Also don’t miss our limited edition canvas tote bags, with this year’s illustration by artist Martha Ratcliff, these are available to buy in the maltings store.
In need of a break from the hustle and bustle? Why not attend one of our free talks with expert crafters and see the Mercerie’s stunning crochet wall hangings in the Long Kiln Gallery. Grab a coffee or light lunch and admire the exhibition of woven artwork in the Riverside Café by Charlotte Karin, or take part in a free drop-in session and make a woollen hoop to add to the Seeds of Hope installation, a Surrey Hills Arts project with artist Diana Burch.
Do keep us in the loop, show us what you get up to at the festival, share your stashes, WIPs and upcoming projects. We hope you enjoy the festival as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together!
