thread... a festival of textiles

exhibitor listing

Sat 10 June 2023

A celebration of all things textiles, from sewing to macramé, printing to embroidery and weaving.

welcome

Welcome textile enthusiasts to our 11th annual thread festival. We hope you enjoy your day joining with other like-minded crafters to learn new skills, meet the experts and to re-stock your fabric and haberdashery stash.

This programme will help you get the best out of your visit. There are over 50 stalls in thread’s curated marketplace where you can buy from your favourite fabric shops, stitching vendors, yarn purveyors, and haberdashers. Our stallholders are experts in their field and are on hand to inspire you whether you’re a crafting newbie or an experienced maker.

During the course of the day, take time out from the bustling marketplace to visit the Long Kiln Gallery to explore the works of textile artists Rezia Wahid and Sarah Ward and fashion and textiles students from Farnbrough College of Technology.

Enjoy our free programme of talks with tips on how to re-fashion your wardrobe with author Portia Lawrie, deep dive into all things denim with Sarah Ward, and be inspired by Rezia Wahid’s textile art. Plus, join Charlotte Bull in the Undercroft for free drop-in taster sessions in yarn wrapping.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Farnham was granted World Craft Town status in June 2020 by the World Craft Council following a successful application by Farnham Maltings and Farnham Town Council. The award is in recognition of the special role that craft plays in our community.
