1)Who or what influenced you to become a makeup artist? My inspiration comes from my Mother who was a Hair Stylist and she also did makeup for her customers on special occaisions. My mom owned her own business for many years & had a small eyeshadow collection of her own. She had purchased the eye shadow from a beauty show in Miami back in the day. Like every little girl playing in her Mother’s makeup, heels and clothes, Following in her footsteps, I developed the love for fashion and beauty. Actually, modeling was my first venture. While, modeling for my first gig, “Hype Hair Magazine”, I met Makeup Artist Linda Dupri. Ms. Linda, beat my face so flawless; I was speechless and also reminded me of my Mom, by the way she carried herself. Make up Artist Linda Dupri, sparked my deep passion for Modeling and Makeup. I was later introduced to Acting when I was booked as an Extra on Drop Dead Diva among many other movies and TV shows which can be found on www.IMDB.com
which created the Glam Diva Jay-Jill.
Vansanten. This was just the start of her acting career; in 2010 she appeared again on Drop Dead Diva Season 2 Episode 1 «Would I Lie To You.» St. Williams also appeared on Fox’s TV Show Past Life Episode «St. Sarah» and USA’s Burn Notice Episode «Brotherly Love.»Most recently, Jill St. Williams was casted for her first speaking role in the movie “VEER” which was written and produced by Patrick Barry where she plays the role of a security officer which she earned her 1st IMDB Credit. Not only is she an actor, but she is a business owner. In October 2011 she founded her Jay~Jill Cosmetics company and JSW Models & Productions LLC.
2)Did you go to a makeup school, or did you teach yourself? No, I did not attend Makeup School, I simply took the talents I was blessed with and utilize them to the best of my ability. 3)What was your first makeup job, and how did you get it? My first make-up assignment was for a Wedding. I was referred to the bride by a coworker.

4)How did you come up with the Name Jay Jill Cosmetics? I came up with Jay-Jill from filming on Set when people I was working with couldn’t remember my name so they would ask if they could call ME “Jay”, I hear the statement often “ I’ve never met a black Jill before” which I can believe. Since, I’ve only met one in my life time, and she was my next door neighbor in Atlanta. 5)What inspired you to create a make up line? Again, it was my Mom, the love I have for makeup, and all the things of the beauty industry. A lot of women of color always express to me how hard it is find a foundation to match their skin, or they do not know how to apply makeup at all so, therefore they don’t wear it. Then, There are celebrities who have launched makeup lines but its simply not affordable. I am your everyday working wife, Corrections Officer, Womanpreneur who wanted to offer quality and affordable makeup to regular everyday women. I’m striving to make Jay-Jill a household name and a must have product in every woman’s makeup bag. 6)Which makeup products from the Jay Jill Cosmetics do we need to use to create “the perfect makeup face” in 5 minutes? -I would recommend the following for a simple everyday look. -Jay-Jill Dual Powder which can be used wet or dry for full coverage. JayJill Shimmering Eyeshadow “Big Daddy” or Crushed Mineral Eye & Lip Shadow “Micro” Jay-Jill Blotting Powder “Light Warm” All can be found online at www.jay-jillcosmetics.com 7)What are some of the challanges did you face when you first started your cosmetic line? Finding the right manufacturer with the products I wanted to offer was the biggest problem. I had to do alot of googling, traveling, and sampling all while keeping it a secret. I learned that sometimes those that I thought were for me were really not and at times expected me to fail. This is a God given talent and passion not driven by man.-Support from friends & the local community was one of my biggest concerns as 22 FASHIONPAPERONLINE.COM
far as helping to spread the word. My primary focus now is on marketing and my current and future customers. 8)Who or what are your inspirations when it comes to make up lines, and beauty experts trending in the industry as of now? As far as Beauty Experts, I would like to give credit to Tracey Brown, EIC of Blinging Beauty. Tracey blessed me with the opportunity and training to write for her beauty site Blinging Beauty at www.blingingbeauty.com. There’s many product reviews done by fabulous talented young women on Blinging Beauty. My beauty name is Jill The Princess Diva check out my product reviews.
9)Are there any make up brands that inspired you when you first started? No no really! 11)What type of woman does your beauty line cater to? Jay-Jill offer products for Women of Color and for All To Enjoy. I have foundation shades from lightest to darkest of complexions, Lipsticks in Matte, Cream, Pearl. Bold Bright Lipsticks, Glitters that’s are safe for the eyes, Body Glitters, Multi purpose eyeshadows that can be used as eyeliner and lip shadows. I recently launched my Skin Care line for the fellas “Jay-Jill Man” since the guys were asking “What’s for me”. Jay-Jill Man includes: Shav-
12)What advice would you give to someone that is intereseted in starting a make up line? Set your budget!!!!! Research, Research, Take time to read and ask questions. Go visit the manufacturers and order samples. 13) Which skincare products would you recommend to women when it comes to taking care of their skin ?? I am a big fan of Ambi and once I launch my skincare line for women, It will be all about Jay-Jill. 14) What is Next for you and your company ? I would like to one day open my own Glama Boutique..My other idea I’ll keep it a secret..Wink wink For more information about Jay Jill Cosmetics visit

KEEPING IT CURVY W CHOOSING THE RIGHT SKIRT FOR YOUR FIGURE
E
veryone is a size 2!!!!! Don’t let the media fool you!!!!!!! 75% of American women are a size 14. A size 14 is the average size. It really doesn’t matter your size......What is important is that you are healthy and love being you!!!! Let’s get started shall we? The wonderful world of skirts! With skirts you can dress them up or dress them down. Your homework is figuring out which style compliments your beautiful figure? There are so many different styles of skirts that sometimes it can be difficult to know which one to choose. This is particularly relevant if you have to buy the plain old black skirt for work, and are faced with a wide range of polyester nightmares, grabbing the nearest one just to get it over with! NOT
SO!!!!!! Here are some tips for shopping for the right skirt! If you have a thick waist, wear skirts that draw attention to your legs and away from the waist. Wear long and full skirts or short skirts. Avoid skirts with any embellishments around the middle, as these will draw attention to the waist. For a curvy figure choose skirts with subtle tapering, and A-lines wrap arounds are also suitable. Skirts with a flat front, side or back zippers, drop-waists or no waistband are great as well. For women with a larger or fuller stomachwear lightly tapered pencil skirts and A-line skirts that drape. Avoid waistbands or remove them, avoid anything clinging or tight, bias cuts, pleats, wraps, darts in the front, gathered or bulky styles, and front pockets.
