Fire Fighting 225. DETECTING AND EXTINGUISHING FIRE

Every building shall be provided with means of detecting and extinguishing fire and with fire alarms together with illuminated exit signs in accordance with the requirements in the Tenth Schedule by these by-laws. Every building shall be served by at least one fire hydrant located not more than 91.5 metres from the nearest point of fire brigade access. Total building parameter: 312 m Nos of external hydrant: 312 m / 91.5 m = 3.4 nos = 4 nos

Water Supply System

Water Tank Capacity 1m3 = 400 gallon = 2020/400 = 5.05 = 5nos Therefore, total module required is 5 nos. From the calculation: Suction tank = 1/3 module Water Tank = 1.6 = 2nos

Suction Tank = 1/3 (5) = 1.6 = 2 nos Water Tank = 2/3 (5) = 3.33 = 3 nos Therefore, 2 nos of suction tank and 3 nos of water required

Refuse Chamber Calculation

Capacity calculation shall be based on minimum of 240 litres per ground floor unit and minimum 120 litres per upper floor unit.

Assuming that 1100 l dumpster is used, 1100/1200 = 1.4 = 2 dumpters

Facility Block = 240 l Event Space = 240 l Recycle Point = 240 l Resident Block = 240 l + 120 l + 120 l

Therefore, 1 refuse chamber = 2 dumpsters x 1100 l = 2200 l

Total = 1200 litres

Universal Design

Sliding doors are used to ease wheelchair users access.
