The Ankara. 1-3 Ankara print is a sophisticated identity treasure. With clever details and great experiements with design and style, the results come together looking great. We have seen the ankara print with the block patches, the 3pieces, the fitted and flowing gowns all in different hues, texture and patterns. Slip on some cool gladiator chocolate sandal and a genuine brown leather tote bag to finish off the glam for purpose . Honestly, Ankara has gone beyond the cut and sow era.

Women 4 Africa awards night: overview On 19th of May 2012, Women4Africa saw women from all over Africa and beyond rewarded for their hard work. The event was an opportunity for African women to be recognised and empowered to lead the society. Stella Damasus the Women4Africa ambassador, in her keynote speech, raised the challenges and wows that women in Africa are faced with. Till date, African women and girls are still raped and abused both sexually and otherwise. It is now every body’s responsibility to lend a helping hand in changing the story of African women she said. Continuing in the same light, Tola Onigbanjo CO- founder of Women4Africa added, ‘changing the story of the African woman is exactly what we stand for. It is traditionally okay for the African woman to be the carer who is never cared for. She goes on and on caring for others, sorting out every other person’s problems and is never expected to receive same. African women need to be cared for, loved, provided for, appreciated, rewarded and recognised. That is the primary goal of Women4Africa awards. Recognising and appreciating these women’s efforts in our own little way’. Various categories were awarded including; Businesswoman of the year, Humanitarian woman, Inspirational woman, and outstanding woman of the year among others. Nominations for the 2013 awards have now begun. This is the time to recognise that exceptional woman in your life. So go on to the website, women4africa.com and get nominating.

DJ Unbeatable: 21 year old Best DJ BAFTA Nominee; Interview by Gozie Nwagwu. DJ Unbeatable has been distributing Nigerian music globally through his mixtapes. In 2008 he was nominated for the best DJ award at the BAFTA awards, since then his career in the music industry has been on the rise and he seems to be enjoying it. C. Hub magazine caught up with him in his home in the UK on a hot afternoon and this is what he had to say: Q: What inspired you to become a DJ at a very young age? My life is all about music. From my secondary school time, I began to develop love for music. But my parents were like No, you need to go to college , university, blah, blah ,blah and I did it . Eventually, in 2005, I started to do DJ professionally and ever since, it has been a long road. I thank God though. Q: When you started, did you think you will be successful? Yes! I told you all my life is about music. When I go out with my friends, I like to go to the busy side of the fun and get fully involved. This eventually leads to success. Q:You were nominated for the best DJ category in 2008/2009 BAFTA AWARDS, how great was that? To be honest for the fact that I was even nominated gives me the real boost. At least, I know someone out there enjoys what I do. That was a big deal for me. Q: Have you performed in Nigeria since you left? No, but I am looking forward to that this year. Q: How many hits have you been making? Right now I can tell you things are rosy. I 30 C HUB September-October 2012

with the government and the people. But it’s not, its every where. Frankly, it’s hard work, I don’t rest from Wednesday to Monday. I am always, always very busy. I don’t rest. There’s never a dull moment.
Eventually I went back online to check how many downloads I got and it was amazing. At a point I was having 7000 downloads in a week. Since then, I make sure that every 2 to 3 months, I pull out a mixtape just to thank my little followers.
Q: It’s like clockwork? Yes. It is not easy. You got to go on and on. I don’t rest, trust me.
Q: How would you describe your style of music? When it comes to music I can change the mind of the crowd. It all depends, I can do Hip hop, RnB, Reggae, Old school, Afrobeats, Soca, in fact any music at all.
Q: What has been your worst gig? I would say it happened in a casino in the West End a couple of years ago. I got booked for a party, they said they had this thing and it happened that they had something else. The whole thing got messed up.
Q:You mentioned Afrobeat, what do you think of Fela? I was little then but from the stories I heard, he changed the music scene. I enjoy his music so much. I don’t think he would have anticipated the changes that we are seeing now as everyone is into African music. Q:To get to this height, how much challenge did you have to encounter? Listen to me, there is politics every where. I thought it is something that has to do
Q: Who is your music Icon? Sunny Ade.
Q: What’s the worst advice you’ve got? When I started DJ, someone told me, “ you better stop this thing you are doing and look for something better to do with your life. Q: What advice do you have for upcoming DJs? Live up to your dreams don’t get discouraged.

Drink your way to wellness. A secret you never hear often. By Estella Moses. Water is a very essential source of good hydration necessary to stay fresh and youthful. From digestion, absorption and even elimination processes, water is needed. A well hydrated cell and tissue stays efficiently functional and able to withstand stress. Good hydration helps to improve individuals energy level and optimises productivity. Water makes up about 72% of the body fluid and is about 42litres on the average. An average adult on the other hand loses about 3litres of water everyday through perspiration, respiration, elimination and depending on activities and extent of exposure to heat. This amount of loss is significant enough to cause dehydration if not replaced. Drinking water regularly is a habit that can never be harmful. The more water you drink, the more you equip your whole system for the task ahead. Helping your organs stay optimally functional and in good health.

TREATMENT OA accounts for 55% of all arthritis-related hospitalisations; 409,000 hospitalisations for OA as principal diagnosis in 1979. There is currently no cure for OA. Treatment for OA focuses on relieving symptoms and improving function, and can include a combination of patient education, physical therapy, weight control, and use of medications4. Surgery is a powerful tool in the treatment of OA. Blacks and persons of low income have lower rates of total knee replacement but higher complications and mortality than whites10. Among black patients with OA, there is much greater belief in the efficacy of physical therapy, Tylenol, herbal medicine, massage, and prayer, and considerably less belief in the efficacy of surgery11. African Americans and white patients with osteoarthritis of the knee or hip differ with respect to their perceptions of traditional and complementary treatments for arthritis and their self-care practices11. Osteoarthritis affects all races in the USA. The control of overweight and obesity among African Americans would reduce their “exposure to the disease. Attitudinal change towards treatment options would mitigate the severity of OA in the community.

application for designers, for example? And don't forget about the budding online and mobile application industry. You could create and sell an iPhone/ iPad application to help people plan their daily outfit; design their dream gardens, and more. 7. Build a Community/Event Around it - Here, you're thinking of ways to rally live people around your hobby. As a fashion lover, you could host a fashion show, inviting budding fashion students to showcase their talent, or organise trunk shows or in-home accessory parties, where women could buy and sell vintage pieces. As a gardener, you could start a community organisation that beautifies impoverished neighbourhoods, teach workshops on flower arranging to homemakers, etc. The idea is to offer access to a community where people share the same passion as you, charging them on a per-head or per-class basis, depending on the format you decide on. 8. Maintain it - Many people make a living by offering services that help preserve or maintain what they're passionate about. For the fashion lover this could be a laundering service, or a bespoke tailor/alteration shop. For a market full of avid gardeners, creating a new formula for plant food could be quite the success story, or even a service caring for precious plants while people are on vacation. So, that's eight to get you started... There are nearly endless possibilities, but I hope these got your creativity brewing! You can definitely turn your hobby into a thriving business to be proud of.

But The Help focuses on a different side of the civil rights movements that is rarely seen, the house help. This adaptation of Kathryn's Stockett's novel that sees black maids join together to write an tell-all book in 1960s Mississippi. The book exposes what it’s like to be a maid and how their employees have treated them. Skeeter hooks up with Aibileen, in an attempt to understand the heart and mind of someone who is tasked with caring for the children of people with a deep rooted hatred for negro people She is driven, too, by the idea of turning these confessions into a ground-breaking book. The gradual of bond between Skeeter and Aibileen is also heartwarming to watch, but takes away from the gravity of the real cost of Aibileen's rebellion. Aibileen's story is that of bravery and making a difference, which is truly inspiring.

Laugh it out.
Random Jokes with Nonso. 1.The wise fools. Lender:
You can not escape, I must collect my money today.
Borrower: If I kill myself then I will be free from you. (He pulls out a knife and stabs himself to death) Lender:
Smiling he says, ‘if you think you can die with my money. Then you are joking. I will follow you till you pay me. (Also he pulls the same knife and stabs himself to death)
Meanwhile a guy watching from a distance laughs and says… ‘I must watch this to the end’. (He pulls the knife again and stabs himself to death too.) Now if you still want to know what happened next, you know exactly what to do. 2.The stupid Sons. Mr Azu and his friend Oko argues on how stupid their sons are. Mr Azu:
My son is more stupid
Oko:
No! I disagree, my son is the most stupid.
Mr Azu:
OK, lets see, then he calls his son. ‘Son, come and buy me something from the shop. (Quickly, his son dashes off without asking what it is he was to buy.)
Mr Azu:
You see what I told you. You see how stupid he is?
Oko:
Is this what you call stupid? Just wait and see. Then Oko calls his son too and says to him. ‘Son, go home and check if I am at home.’
Like the wind Oko’s son zooms off. Few minutes later, he comes back panting. ‘Papa! Papa!! No you no dey home, mama say you go your friend place.’ 3. Akpos Voicemail (Phone rings) Akpos:
