ABOUT

I believe that the best thing an architect can do is to experience new things, to live different occasions, go to different places and absorb the atmosphere. Cities give us a rich amount of information social, physical, political, our assignment is to interpret and try to summarize in actions for design a project ou action. I’m in the pursuit of experiencing worldwide scenarios in order to improve the life of people through architecture.

1. MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM OF HOLOCAUST DATE : 2017 LOCATION: SAO PAULO - BR PROGRAM: CULTURAL TYPE: COMISSION SCALE: LARGE - 3000m² ROLE: CO-AUTHOR at Figueroa.arq The proposal for the Museum and Memorial of Holocaust in São Paulo was to create a route with variations in spaces and materiality. Each part in other to transmit different emotions and evoke the imaginarie of this difficult but also important period of history. The outside patio is conceived as a contemplation place, where to pray for the ones who lost their lives, represented by the rocks, the black marble creates a surprise because all the outside wall is made in raw concrete. It works independent from the museum, as a memorial, but can also be seen as part of the route. Inside the Museum the ground floor gives access to the café the auditorium and service area, going down is the educational floor with libraries and workshop classes and going up are the exhibitions permanent and temporary. The circulation happens by stairs in the voids to underground floor an by a long and dark ramp to expositions, that also led to a garden observatory in the rooftop.

2. SP TOWER DATE : 2017 LOCATION: SAO PAULO - BR PROGRAM: MIXED USE TYPE: COMISSION SCALE: EXTRA LARGE ROLE: CO-AUTHOR at Figueroa.arq São Paulo is one of the biggest city in the world and besides its good architecture, there aren’t any new building with an important image to represent the city. In the pursuit of this imagery of progress, some investors proposed to construct one hundred floor buildings and a new masterplan for the area of the actual Main distribution Market of fruits and flowers of the city (they are moving to a new location in a few years). The proposal was first to determine a structural system, studying others similar towers we chose the concept of rigid circulation core in the center with mixed concrete and steel exoskeleton, liberating the open plan. In order to create a more interesting image of the building and also relate to the modern architecture in São Paulo as some columns in Mendes da Rochas and principally Artiga’s buildings, the building changes it section. From one way of view can be seen as an elegant tower moving around it changes completely. Inside there are two elevated public spaces dividing the three programs: offices, Hotel, and apartments, with the main restaurant and 360° observatory of the city in the top.

STREETS

The competition for a park on the Aguas Claras district in the city of Brasilia was for us at first a matter of organizing the territory characterized by different areas disconnected by railways, avenues, and topography. The gesture to integrate them was the creation of an axis passing through the areas, that should work as an elevated platform with vertical cores distributed, creating a visual reference. After this was easier to determine the activities, pathways and green areas. Inside each square was important to design also the relation with topography and the activities, we decide to divide in platforms connected by generous stairs where the main program happens in the open space and the support areas: bathrooms, lockers, bicycle garage, cafés, restaurants happen semi-grounded in a shaded area.

HOSPITAL FACILITY BRASILIA DATE : 2016 LOCATION: BRASILIA- BR PROGRAM: HEALTH TYPE: COMPETITION (awarded second place) SCALE: MEDIUM - 2000m² ROLE: COLLABORATOR at Hiperstudio As working with a health facility the proposal was to create spaces more generous and with more natural elements than usual hospitals. The plan goes along with longitudinal way of the site, exploring its extension to organize the program in a central linear pavilion that organize the fluxes to the connected blocks that houses different functions. From one side we have the three main rectangular blocks with the medical facilities and in the other side a linear service bar. In the entrance, we hace the reception and the mini auditorium to give educational heatlht tips for the population and working with a degree of independence of the rest. In order to give flexibility the structure is divided between the roof and the blocks, so while maintainhg the roof as the connector, is possible to change the blocks or add new ones if necessary. To improve the quality of the space, the hospital facility has gardens, and water tanks, also helping in to give humidity to the really dry weather of Brasilia.

PERMEABLE TRANSITIONS: Ways of inhabiting THE TERRITORY DATE : 2016 LOCATION: SAO PAULO - BR PROGRAM: MIXED-USE TYPE: GRADUATION PROJECT at Mackenzie University SCALE: LARGE - 3.500m² ROLE: AUTHOR The project starts with an eye-catching approach to the local scale, on the ground floor, but also aware of the metropolitan scale, it flows, and dynamics. The question of territory assumes a central role in the elaboration of the proposal, which determines a systemic posture - with a certain infra-structural character - to think beyond the object. The idea is to first be the proposition of an architecture that stands out for its functionality as a system. A kind of mechanism that intends to modify the reality and the perception that we have of the environment, constructing a new landscape. Interest in enabling a way to see the world and transform it, encouraging behaviors and actions. The creation of an atmosphere, a reasoning applied to the conception of simple objects and architectural forms. The different functions of the buildings were conceived in the form of a system, firstly related to the surroundings, but allowing the interaction between the projects, guaranteeing autonomy and complementarity. In this way, the catwalk and the city’s own floor connect the various events, adding to the flow of people that pass through the area daily and that can be captured by the buildings and their public spaces.

The object of imbalance DATE : 2015 LOCATION: LONDON - UK PROGRAM: DESIGN OBJECT TYPE: PROJECT at Architectural Associtation Summer School SCALE: SMALL ROLE: CO-AUTHOR The ‘Object of Imbalance’ project is the result of the analysis of East London City from a future perspective. In which the current eccentricity and vivacity of the spaces were lost with the exit of the old residents and the housing crisis is present Thus, the proposed object is based on this unequal siting, where the point of support is displaced. One imposes his strength upon the lives of many. But most of all we seek the interaction of people and that it brings part of that experience of a city that has been lost. Several physical models were made for study, and developed in the Rhino to finally manufacture the pieces in 1: 1 in the CNC machine with a single sheet of laminated wood.

Making models is an important part of the process of design, to explore the shape, see the light and proportions. Not focusing exactly on a material or technique I tried to integrate the physical model making as a tool in the academic projects. 1_SumarĂŠ Transfer (Master) 2_Lapa Station (Graduation) 3_Objct.
