The McCullough Miracle Mile Virtual Prayer Walk The McCullough Miracle Mile is the area encompassed within a mile radius of First Baptist Church. It includes most of downtown and small areas outside IH 35 and IH 37. This prayer walk is provided to assist you to seek the presence of God to fill this city so that the name of Jesus will be lifted up and God will be glorified in our lives and city. We will focus on seeking God, not what comes with Him when His presence is here. This prayer walk is about repentance and spiritual warfare. Our enemy is not poverty nor people, but the powers that bring the poverty and enslave the people in addictions and ungodly behavior. We fight against spiritual powers and must use spiritual weapons (prayer and the Word) to defeat them. Thank you for fighting for this city with your prayers for revival. Definition of Awakening or Revival. In revival, God moves in the district. Suddenly, the community becomes God conscious. The Spirit of God grips men and women in such a way that even work is given up as people give themselves to waiting upon God. In the midst of the Lewis Awakening (on Hebrides about 1950), the parish minister at Barvas wrote, “The Spirit of the Lord was resting wonderfully on the different townships of the region. His Presence was in the homes of the people, on meadow and moorland, and even on the public roads.” This presence of God is the supreme characteristic of a God-sent revival. Of the hundreds who found Jesus Christ during this time fully 75% were saved before they came near a meeting or heard a sermon by myself or any other ministers in the parish. The power of God, the Spirit of God, was moving in operation, and the fear of God gripped the souls of men – this is God-sent revival as distinct from special efforts in the field of evangelism. American Revival of 1857 In some towns it was reported as being “almost impossible to find anyone who had not been converted”. Like a great spiritual epidemic, tremendous Conviction of Sin swept through the land, and thousands turned to Christ. Drunkards as they stood at the saloon bars, gamblers as they sat at the card tables, congregations as they sat in their churches, even passengers on board incoming liners came under the influence of this strange and wonderful moving of God and, kneeling in repentance, found pardon. In many places, dance halls, theaters, and gambling dens were closed or emptied: new churches began to spring up everywhere; family altars were restored, and the spirit of prayer grew in intensity until anyone could cross the land and find a “mid-day” prayer meeting in almost any town. It was estimated that as many as 50,000 decisions were made in a week. For this we pray, nothing less than God’s presence to save and his Kingdom made manifest. God longs to pour out revival on San Antonio. But we need to ASK for it. Will you join me in crying out to God for this kind of awakening in our Miracle Mile and in San Antonio. Prayers for the City Prayer Points based on the book, The Breaker Anointing by Barbara Yoder “The breaker goes up before them; they break out, pass through the gate and go out by it. So their king goes on before them, and the LORD at their head.” Micah 2:13 NASB • King Jesus, go before us. • Give us Your power, wisdom and discernment to break through the presence of all evil ruling powers over this city. Ephesians 6:12 • Break through any heaviness that is preventing those in San Antonio from hearing the truth of the Gospel and experiencing the fullness of your Spirit. • Let Your presence be so strong that the people of San Antonio will feel Your joy and peace. • Church, go through the gate Christ has created. • Set free the alcoholic and the drug addict. • Break old habit patterns and free us from bondages. • Free us from all sexual sin and sexual addictions. • Fill your church with your love for all men and women and for this city. • Build up and restore those who have been broken by devastating life experiences. Luke 4:18 • Change individuals, churches and the sociopolitical structure and belief systems of this city. “Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will bind us up, that we may live in His sight.” Hosea 6:1-2 • Transform us from a passive, withdrawn entity into a bold, aggressive and advancing spiritual force. • Heal your church and give us life. • Take these dry bones, raise them up, bring them together and breathe into them your life. Make us into a mighty army, a powerful corporate force. • Change our cultural mind set from one of separate from the world to one of influencing the culture around us. • Raise us out of a place of lethargy and sleepiness and give us true revelation regarding the core purpose of the church, the transformation of society. • Show us how to boldly declare and establish the Gospel of Jesus Christ. • First, change the soul of the church and its men and women that we may then change society.
“God blessed them, and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth’”. Genesis 1:28 • Lord, make us fruitful and show us how to multiply. • Let your power and glory through your church fill the earth and subdue all the forces of evil. • Teach us to live responsibly, using the dominion over every living thing to advance the Kingdom of God. • Set apart and send forth ones to accomplish your specific mission and purpose in San Antonio. Anoint them with the fullness of your power and authenticate them with signs and wonders. • Equip the ordinary believer with a seriousness and faith in what the Word says about who the church is that they may be doers and not spectators. • Give your church the heart of Jesus and motivate them with your Great Commission. Luke 4:18-19, Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15 • As part of the body of Christ, let us say as He did, “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18-19 • Give us a heart, not just for individuals, but for cities and nations. • Strengthen our faith and confidence and help us to act with boldness and courage. “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12 • Give us eager souls to storm the gates of hell. • Teach us to press into the fight for the souls of men and cities with might and energy. • Let us fulfill the mandate to press mightily and energetically into every area of society in order to release the kingdom of God on earth. • Let heaven hear the rumbling of the church as it gives birth to a new order here on earth. • Make us radical shakers with a fresh anointing that will break through every obstacle to the furtherance of the gospel. • Shake loose everything that is holding your church back, in both the church structure and in the individuals. • Shake your church out of its complacency and comfort so that it will fulfill that for which we were born. • Break us out of our ruts, mind-sets and our meaningless traditions and into a place where we can begin to inherit the promises of God.
