COAST America’s Great Paint-Out

The Vision

Capturing and Preserving Florida’s Forgotten Coast through the Plein Air Tradition Welcome to The Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, America’s Great Paint-Out May 3-12, 2019 Now in the 14th year of documenting the landscape and culture of the last vestige of authentic “Old Florida,” Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, America’s Great Paint-Out, is among the world’s most prestigious plein air events. Artistic excellence and the production of investment quality art continues to be the trademark of this 10-day festival. As the event moves into its second decade, organizers are honing what makes the Forgotten Coast event exceptional. “With plein air events popping up all over the country, we realize the importance of focusing on quality and relevance. We have developed a three year program, transcending typical event content to focus on the reason why plein air painting is important, as well as how the process and the paintings contribute to a region’s resilience,” states Board President Joe Taylor.

The Forgotten Coast on Canvas

This year’s event will focus on the natural environment as it recovers from the impact of Hurricane Michael. While each year will have a programmatic focus for the purpose of examination in the series of lectures, presentations and discussions, the collectors can be assured that the paintings will be

a superb mix of subject matter and styles. The invitational features 20 internationally acclaimed artists, as well as, four “Florida’s Finest en Plein Air” artists honored as Plein Air Ambassadors. Expanded exhibits, a Collectors’ Forum, distinguished guest speakers, and surprises that will be fresh and new to the plein air community are all in the making.

How Can You Get Involved?

This exciting event also allows you to get involved in a variety of activities. First, we urge you to interact with the painters; they love the attention! Attend the quick-draw event, the nocturne paints, lectures, lunches, receptions, student art day, collection exhibits, and Collector’s Gala to see all of the plein air paintings, and learn more about the artists, their painting styles and mediums. And take one-on-one classes with an artist ambassador to discover the intricacies of plein air painting yourself. But most of all, become a collector. There’s no better way to support the artists and the region than to buy paintings. While the artwork represents a mix of subject matter and styles, all paintings offer a true sense of place and your own meaningful slice of the beautiful Forgotten Coast.

ON THE COVER: “Pelicans” by Nancie King Mertz

This painting represents the 2019 en plein air theme: celebrating the natural environment and its rebirth after Hurricane Michael. According to Board President Joe Taylor, the pelican is symbolically representative of the mythical phoenix that rises magically from its ashes, an apt metaphor for the recovery of the Forgotten Coast after Hurricane Michael’s devastation. About the artist: A Chicago native, Nancie King Mertz is a nationally recognized Plein Air artist who has been a regular participant in the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event.

Operation Fundstorm

A pop-up fund raiser by plein air artists aids hurricane recovery Hurricane Michael hit the Forgotten Coast with Category 4 strength and 155 mile-an-hour winds on October 10, 2018. In a few hours, the 100-mile stretch along the Gulf of Mexico was impacted in ways that will be felt for years. Amid the disaster, Plein Air artists jumped in from afar. A Notion Becomes a Mission It started with a Facebook post. Plein air painter Larry Moore threw a thought into the wind. “I posted the notion on Facebook as a passive request, ‘I’m thinking about putting some of my paintings up for auction to help with recovery for the Forgotten Coast, anybody else wanna come with?’” he wrote. “Before I knew it there were about 100 offers to contribute, then 200, then 250.” WWW.FORGOTTENCOASTENPLEINAIR.COM

A Team Assembles On The Fly Forgotten Coast en Plein Air board member Denise Rose responded to Larry’s post. Painters Lisa Camilla Hale and Cathleen Windham jumped in too, and the “Operation Fundstorm” team was assembled. Things moved quickly. Artists from across the country donated 265 paintings, many of which depicted the Forgotten Coast. How Operation Fundstorm Helped The funds from the art sales are being used to support formation and training of a regional disaster corps group of local young adults, themselves impacted by the storm. The young people are developing their skills while working in hurricane recovery tasks in the area. Rebuilding is ongoing. The natural coastal areas are still beautiful. And Forgotten Coast residents are humbled by the generosity of the artists and collectors.

Honoring Event Founder

Richard Carrell

History, Organization and Purpose Paintings, relationship-building and more The Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition is a 501c3 organization whose primary activity is organizing the annual Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, America’s Paint Out, each May. This event enhances the vitality of the local communities along Florida’s Forgotten Coast. From Mexico Beach to Alligator Point, the event depicts the natural beauty and unique culture of the Forgotten Coast.

Like many great projects, the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air started with a simple idea— inviting artists to capture the culture and beauty of the people and places of this amazing coastline. It was in 2004 when Richard Carrell first introduced the idea of a plein air event that eventually launched in 2006. Sadly, Richard only lived to see four years of plein air events, which has since grown to become one of the leading plein air events in the country. We continue to honor Richard and his wife Julia and their family for their commitment and passion.

Forgotten Coast en Plein Air also allows local residents and visitors a rare opportunity—to actively engage, as volunteers and art lovers, with nationally known plein air artists from around the world.

Giving Back To Our Communities

In turn, the plein air artists donate a percentage of each painting sale to benefit the arts for the communities of the Forgotten Coast. The Forgotten Coast Coalition also provided the permanent Richard Carrell Plein Air Collection to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf as well as grants for arts initiatives to many area partners.

Proceeds from Forgotten Coast en Plein Air support the mission of the Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition. By organizing cultural activities, the coalition enhances the vitality of local communities along Florida’s Forgotten Coast from Mexico Beach to Alligator Point. By supporting this event you:

• Document regional history and culture • Highlight the preservation and awareness of Florida’s natural resources • Enrich the quality of life for residents by encouraging regional cultural events • Build community by empowering local non-profit organizations to be partners • Reach out to a broad-based, multi-community, multi-generational audience

Plein Air 2019 Florida’s Finest Ambassadors Meet and paint with the pros and take home a painting CATHY BERSE New Smyrna Beach, Florida “I try and absorb sight to sound, temperature to atmosphere and then channel those feelings from head to hand to recreate a vision with my oil paints on canvas for viewers to enjoy.” Cathy Berse is a 30-year resident of Florida and Signature Member of East Coast Plein Air. Cathy feels that painting en Plein Air is a wonderful way to capture the true light and feel for this beautiful place we live in. Cathy invites her viewers to step into the scenes she painted and enjoy them as much as she enjoyed painting them. Cathy attended the University of Wisconsin, MATC Wisconsin, and the University of Tennessee. In years past Cathy has worked as a graphic designer, teacher and muralist. Her paintings are in national, international, and private collections. See her work at www.cathyberse.com.

THERESA GRILLO LAIRD Gulf Breeze, Florida “Painting, like the rest of life, is a journey filled with glimpses of the less obvious truth if you take the time to look. What is truly there beyond the impressions of a first glance?” Originally from the Northern US, Theresa Grillo Laird currently lives in Gulf Breeze, Florida. She finds her inspiration in the dunes, marsh, and coastal woods of Gulf Islands National Seashore, capturing the mood and sense of place of the coastal environment in all its seasons. She describes her process as “engaging with the forms and features within the landscape to reveal the animated movement inherent in all of nature.” Theresa creates paintings described as both peaceful and dynamic. Always eager to share the experience of plein air painting, Theresa conducts workshops and teaches privately as well as through the Continuing Ed program at Pensacola State College. Her works have appeared in PleinAir Magazine and she has exhibited with the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, and in solo and group exhibitions. Her paintings and blog, The Passionate Palette, can be found on her website www.theresagrillolaird.com.

Florida’s Finest Ambassadors RUTH SQUITIERI Port Orange, Florida “When I paint on location, I want to convey the mood and sunshine that I felt at that moment. The best compliment is when a viewer tells me they can put themselves into the scene and feel the warmth of the sun and enjoy it with me.” Ruth was born and raised in Germany where art has featured prominently for her, although her whole family was more musically inclined. After moving to Florida in the early 1990s, she expanded her knowledge about art via books and self-study, and discovered plein air painting in 2006. Since then she has taken her brushes and paints on location and has depicted alleyways, boats, and palm trees in the glorious Florida sunshine. In addition to loving the outdoors and eager to chat, encourage, and advise passersby, Ruth has taken on a permanent instructor’s position at her local art association in New Smyrna Beach, teaching everything from the basics of sketching, to composition and perspective, to plein air painting. Traveling extensively to Europe every year, Ruth has joined the Urban Sketchers movement and documents her travel experiences one sketch at a time, in Pen and Ink. Ruth is an active blogger, writing bilingual posts about her art and experiences at krautart.blogspot.com. See her paintings at www.paintingsbyruth.com.

JOAN VIENOT Santa Rosa Beach, Florida “The greatest pleasure for me as an artist is the capture of the present moment, a little piece of NOW.” An avid paddleboarder and nature photographer, artist Joan Vienot often returns to scenic areas, palette in hand, attempting to capture the scene on canvas en plein air. Born and raised in Colorado, Joan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado with majors in Fine Art and in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Joan taught basic design, drawing, painting, and commercial art and coached girls sports in the public high school in her hometown for 3 years before moving to Seagrove Beach in Northwest Florida. Starting a swimming pool service business in 1983, Joan eventually employed 12 county residents full time, and another 6 seasonally, contracting to provide weekly and twice-a-week service to more than 300 properties in South Walton County. Recently selling her business of 35 years, Joan now is a full-time artist. Joan’s art can be seen by appointment at her studio in Point Washington in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Selected works are at Bohlert-Massey Interiors in Panama City Beach and East End Gallery in Inlet Beach, FL. She blogs and posts her work online at Facebook at Joan Vienot Art and Instagram @JoanVienotArt. www.joanvienot.com Special Events: Tuesday, May 7, 6:30 pm, Residency Exhibit, Hope: Recovery & the Natural Environment, Cal Allen Coastal Art Gallery, Carrabelle

Residency Exhibits and Presentations

Documenting the culture of the Forgotten Coast through Art

Artist Residencies Celebrating nature and culture With the idea that art validates the nature, culture, and people of an area, in 2015 a series of artist residencies began which focused on the how the plein air process celebrates and builds stronger communities. Their paintings have been an annual catalyst for discussions and education about life here on the Forgotten Coast. The selected artists spend time in advance of the event to study and capture the culture of the region. Below is a snapshot of the residencies that have occurred to date.

Every year the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air selects several artists to document aspects of the region’s cultural, architectural, and environmental heritage. These residencies have become an important part of our local outreach and results in an impressive portfolio of work. This year, we’re pleased to announce that we have chosen Joan Vienot to be our 2019 artist in residence in an effort to capture our changing coastline on canvas. We’re thrilled that Joan accepted this important assignment and look forward to her presentation on Tuesday, May 7, 6:30 pm at the Cal Allen Coastal Art Gallery, Carrabelle. This will be Joan’s second year as one of our Florida’s Finest Plein Air Ambassadors and she will be available for one-on-one painting sessions. Be sure to sign up early to get a chance to work with Joan.

Joan Vienot spent two weeks along the Forgotten Coast in March and April, documenting the changes to our natural environment post Hurricane Michael and investigating how nature recovers, with and without human intervention. Her residency included investigations of mitigation efforts of storm damage, including installation of living shorelines, sea oats planting, erection of sand fences, removing the combustible fuel overload in the forests, and restoration of Longleaf pines. In addition, Joan attended workshops at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve and did a walking tour of St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge. Joan will share her residency work, and the resulting art she created, at a reception on May 7 in Carrabelle.

Kendall Portis: Shapes: Building Blocks to Picture Making Kendall will discuss how every good painting is rooted in a strong design composed of shapes. Not understanding this will cause the big picture to be lost to visual clutter. Regardless of the subject, the painting can be broken down into three or four basic shapes. This helps to simplify the story and forces the artist to avoid chasing small, unimportant details. The first step of good storytelling is knowing what to sacrifice or edit out subordinate information to express the visual truth. 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, The Joe Center for the Arts, 201 Reid Avenue, Port St. Joe.

Ginny Fergus: Traveling Mercies Watercolor is a versatile medium and it is exciting to see how modern watercolor artists are using it. Come enjoy good food while Ginny Fergus discusses how traveling to paint and traveling to show and sell her work has been formative in every aspect of her life as an artist, including the evolution of her painting approach and style. She will share some examples and specifics about what she looks for as she selects painting subjects and sights and how Ginny proceeds to interpret her choices through painting. 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art, 86 Water St., Apalachicola

Poppy Balser: Rendering Boats Watercolor is a versatile medium and it is exciting to see how modern watercolor artists are using it. Come enjoy good food while Poppy Balser shares her love of watercolor. Poppy will be discussing how to paint boats that look sea-worthy and the mistakes artists make while painting boats. Living on the Bay of Fundy, boats are a favorite subject of Poppy’s. Since she feels that the final rigging is where the magic happens, she will also be demonstrating how to paint boat rigging effectively. 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art, 86 Water St., Apalachicola

Trey Finney: Expression and Interpretation Trey will present how personal choices made during the painting process can lead to unique results and a more individual look. 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, The Joe Center for the Arts, 201 Reid Avenue, Port St. Joe

Saturday, May 11

Terry Miura: 10 Strategies for Simplifying Cityscapes Terry will focus on how painting cityscapes can be extremely challenging, but by breaking down the problem into smaller, manageable concepts, and simplifying each, the task becomes much less daunting. By investigating, understanding and gaining command of each of these concepts, and employing some or all of them in executing a painting, we can approach a complex cityscape painting with confidence and control. 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art, 86 Water St., Apalachicola

The Legacy of Art

Student Art Day

Sharing Goes Both Ways

Watch Talent Take Root and Bloom

Our artists always love sharing their skill and passion for plein air art with young people. It’s fun to watch the students and artists interact and learn from each other as the event progresses. It’s never a one-way conversation as the students find their own vision and passion in the pieces they create. Don’t miss this event if you want to get a front row seat for a youthful explosion of creativity.

Nothing is more exciting and satisfying than watching talent take root and blossom at an early age. That’s why we consider Student Art Day to be one of the jewels in the crown of the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event. Started in 2007, Student Art Day has become one of the most popular events of the year.

See Student Art

In the afternoon, the student paintings will be hung in the Wet Room at The Armory in Apalachicola for the duration of the event. Please join us for activities celebrating the wonderful tradition of student and professional collaboration. And, if you happen to miss Student Art Day, be sure to stop by the Wet Room and see their paintings up close.

Watch The Fun

This year you can join our featured artists at the historic and picturesque George Core park in Port St. Joe as they mentor local students from Gulf and Franklin county schools. Each artist will work side-by-side with a student to help create a plein air piece of art. The students will sign their paintings and volunteers will frame them onsite. Artists, students, teachers, and volunteers will then gather for a noon lunch to celebrate the day’s accomplishments. 800/378-8419

2019 Plein Air South Keynote Speaker Quang Ho

“Subject matter is not really important to me. I can find visual excitement all around me as well as on the canvas, from a knot on a tree, graceful limp of a flower wilting, to a juxtaposition of a few simple shapes and colors.Inspirations are inexhaustible.” Quang Ho was born on April 30, 1963, in Hue, Vietnam. He Immigrated to the United States in 1975 and is now a U.S. Citizen. His artistic interest began at the early age of three and continued through grade school, high school, art school and led him to a very exciting and successful painting profession. In 1980, at the age of 16, Quang held his first one-man-show at Tomorrows Masters Gallery in Denver Colorado. The exhibit was a smashing success for the high school sophomore. In 1982, Quang’s mother was killed in a tragic auto accident, leaving him the responsibility of raising four younger brothers and a six year old sister. That same year, Quang attended the Colorado Institute of Art on a National Scholastics Art Awards Scholarship. At CIA Quang studied painting under Rene Bruhin, whom Quang credits with developing the foundation for his artistic understanding. Quang graduat-

ed from CIA in 1985 with Best Portfolio Award for the graduating class. An art dealer, Mikkel Saks, discovered his talent and promoted him in his gallery, which led to much success. He also teaches at the Denver Art Students League. He plays golf and reads philosophy and religion extensively. He is a great admirer of Andrew Wyeth. Quang’s clients include Adolph Coors Company; Upjohn, Safeway, Colorado Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony. Quang’s illustration works have been featured in the Illustrators Annual and exhibited at the Museum of American Illustrations, and the Communication Arts Illustrations Annual during those years. Working mostly in oils and occasionally watercolor and pastels, Quang’s subject matter ranges from still-life, landscapes, interiors, and dancers, to figuratives. www.quangho.com

Faculty David Boyd Jr. David Boyd, Jr. attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Illustration. After teaching art at the middle and high school level for 18 years, David shifted from the classroom to painting full time. In 2016, David founded The Studio School at Three Hearts Farm where he teaches oil painting and drawing from life. David also teaches workshops across the southeast. David is an avid outdoor painter and is an active member of several groups including the Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, Portrait Society of America, American Association of Marine Painters, Oil Painters of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and he is a Signature Member with the American Impressionists Society. David has won awards on the national level and his work can be found in private collections across the globe. www.davidboydjr.com Greg Barnes Greg Barnes began painting full time in 2002, on the heels of the 911 disaster. Feeling that “life is short” he finally took his Fine Art degree from Wake Forest University to heart. Greg became attached to soft pastels through his love of drawing and doing portraits when he first began to make a living as an artist. Soon he discovered plein air landscape painting to be his greatest joy, so he pursued that further. To jump start his art career, Greg took several pastel and oil painting workshops with nationally recognized instructors. While selling at art festivals, Greg received requests from potential students to teach them what he knew. He then began teaching his own pastel workshops. Now he divides his time between plein air painting, selling work at outdoor art festivals around the country, and teaching. His work has received numerous awards and is in collections throughout the US and beyond. www.barnesstudios.com

Anne Blair Brown Anne Blair Brown is past president of the Plein Air Painters of the Southeast and a Signature Member of both The Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society. “My goal in teaching is to encourage and empower. I want to share with painters the tools to be confident with the brush and to develop technique, discipline and inspiration on the way to a unique style,” says Anne. In her PAS demonstrations, she offers practical information and exercises to help tap into student strengths. “I’ll illuminate my own process as a guide to show you how to see the “big picture” so you can move toward a more painterly style and find freedom in simplicity.” www.aneblairbrown.com Bill Farnsworth An illustrator of more than 60 children’s books, Bill has seamlessly moved into fine art and is a Signature member of ASMA, OPA, and AIS. He has participated in 6 Forgotten Coast Paint Outs and his work has been deeply inspired by the region. He has garnered awards of excellence from the Oil Painters of America’s National and Regional shows. He won Best in Show at The 10th Biennial National Show in Punta Gorda, and a Bronze Medal in the 2013 OPA Summer Salon. “My goal with my work is to paint what I love and convey that honestly so the viewer can feel that as well.” www.billfarnsworth.com

Her major interest is Plein Air landscapes and other Representational Art. She paints annually around the world. When asked about leaving a career in surgery for full time painting, Mary replies, “I was pulled to art, not pushed from medicine.” Mary has devoted intense study in both her studio and in regular workshop participation with many of the great landscape artists of this era. Her art hangs in galleries and private collections around the United States. Mary has been selected to participate in numerous national juried shows, and has had several one-woman shows at both galleries and museums. www. marygarrishfineart.com John Guernsey Originally from southern California, contemporary landscape artist, John Guernsey, moved to Georgia in 1993 for a business career, and transitioned to an art career in 2006. Having developed his drawing skills through college courses and workshop study, he now concentrates primarily on landscape painting. Most of his work is ‘en plein air’, or alla prima; although he is gradually increasing the output of larger studio paintings. His work reveals a keen observance of atmosphere and light and he is inspired not only by nature, but by city life and architecture. John maintains a busy schedule of classes and workshops, and regularly participates in nationally ranked plein air festivals throughout the country. Some of his recent plein air awards are Best of Show Los Gatos, CA 2017 and 2014, Best of Show Richmond, VA 2013, and awards of excellence at Carmel, CA, 2017, 2016 and 2014. Faculty Kathleen B. Hudson Kathleen B. Hudson lives and paints in Lexington, KY, where she has a studio at Artists’ Attic. Kathleen is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists and an Artist Member of the Copley Society of Art in Boston, MA. In 2017, Hudson received the Grand Prize in the 6th Annual PleinAir Salon for her painting Bright Morning, Timberline Falls, which was featured on the July 2017 cover of PleinAir Magazine. During her years in Boston, Kathleen came to love the beautiful New England landscape as she painted, studied mountain travel narratives, and led backpacking trips for fellow students. She now undertakes several national juried competitions each year, and when she’s not outside painting from life, you can find her in the studio. www.kathleenbhudson.com Christine Lashley Christine Lashley’s art is about the beauty of a moment held in memory. She works to push beyond the literal ‘copying’ of a scene, and portray the essence of what she experienced. Her travels and love of nature inform her paintings with a focus on light patterns and color. Both reality and the abstract are infused into her artwork, using color and texture to look ‘real’ from afar but dissolve into abstraction up close. An art instructor for over 20 years, Christine has taught classes in both oil and watercolor. She has won numerous awards including the Best Light in the Landscape Award at Olmsted Plein Air Invitational (2018), Quick Draw First Place at both Richmond Plein Air and Bucks County Plein Air (2017), and Best Landscape Award at the 27th Oil Painters of America National Show (2018). Her work has been published in North Light Books, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, and PleinAir Magazine (Oct/Nov 2018 cover). www.christinelashley.com

Larry Moore Larry has been a plein air painter and instructor for a very long time. Before that he was an illustrator, a graphic designer and an art director, in a career in visual communication that has spanned 45 plus years. “One thing I’ve found is that to be unique, to stand apart, requires a mastery of method combined with a process of thought and self-discovery in order to achieve authentic expression, a process I’ll be bringing to the PAS table.” www.larrymoorestudios.com Vicki Norman Based in Shropshire, England, Vicki Norman received her BA in Fine Art in 2000 and went on to work as an illustrator, she later qualified for a teaching certificate specializing in post-16 education. In recent years, she has studied with master painters and sculptors around the globe, all the time searching for traditional skills and methods which can be applied to paintings of a modern world. A keen traveller, Vicki is fascinated with the unique combination of light and landscape in each location as she makes paintings that seek to capture the essence of the day and the sense of place through the color, shape and light. Inspired by both contemporary and past masters, Vicki’s paintings employ an historical skill set with a fresh, personal approach. Her works have won awards in the UK and Ireland and she is a regular contributor to plein air events and competitions on both sides of the Atlantic. Vicki has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London. Kathie Odom After graduating from The University of Tennessee in Art Education and Fine Arts, Kathie received early recognition for pastel works. But it was 2009 when she found a home in painting oils en plein air. “I call myself a ‘Nostalgic Impressionist’ as a way of identifying the subjects and style of painting that interest me most,” says Kathie. She is really passionate about plein air painting and allow herself to get lost in the wonderful process of it all. Kathie resides with her husband and maintains a studio in Knoxville, TN. She travels extensively and spends much of her time oil painting in the great outdoors. Also, teaching workshops and participating in plein air events occupies much of her calendar. Most recently she received Best in Show from The Olmsted Plein Air Invitational in Atlanta (April, 2018). Kathie’s original works have sold internationally and she is quite proud of her fine art gallery representation. www.kathieodom.com Lori Putnam Recognized for her expressive brushwork, intelligent composition, and superb use of color, Nashville TN native, Lori Putnam paints small to medium-sized works en plein air and creates large paintings in her studio. His work has received numerous awards in international competition and he is a sought after juror and workshop instructor. He is also an architectural illustrator with an international clientele, a business he has run for the last 20 years. Iain maintains a studio in Opelika, AL. “I rely on instinct a great deal and my sketchbook when selecting subjects for my paintings. The lion’s share of my work is done in one sitting as my real struggle in painting is to capture the initial vision for any given piece. The underlying narrative in my work is not based on any theme in particular but quite simply how “place” is inhabited and used daily.I often use remembered atmospheric and lighting conditions in my work and would say that I paint from life and memory simultaneously. My watercolors are not only a translation of what I see, but more importantly, an expression of how I choose to view the world.” www.iainstew.fineartstudioonline.com
