1952 – 2012: 60 Years of the Past 12 May – 20 October In 1952, a young woman came to the throne of a rapidly changing Empire. 60 years later the same woman sits on the throne and this year the nation celebrates her reign. But how much has the world changed in the last 60 years? Motorways have come to speed us on our way, man has landed on the moon, dictators have risen and fallen, the map of the world has changed irreversibly and a pound is now worth 100 pence not 240! Like all areas, Falkirk has changed and is continuing to do so. The technologies that we live and work with, what we wear, how we play and how we view the world has changed dramatically from 60 years ago. We couldn’t capture all these changes but hopefully what we have on display here will bring back some memories and maybe even a few giggles.
