One of the main things I love about London is that down every street you can find hidden treasures, and w ks of art. While expl ing I came across so many alley ways filled with layers and layers of graffiti and posters which when w n away looked like a piece of art in itself.

“My heart burns f city lights”
While living in London I decided to have a day trip to Brighton, it was nice to have a different scenery from the city and have a eath of fresh air. The area is known f being creative and has street art with even like likes of Banksy and the Brighton pier which was certainly a whirlwind of fun and colour.

Fall/16
Elie Saab
Elie Saab Fall Couture 2016, really caught my eye this year, as the collection had a ready-made theme to it, being ‘New Y k’. It was filled with dec ative motifs and references to the city, being also one of my fav ite cities too. The collection had a sense of style to it which I think is similar to my own, I love all things sculptural and eye catching but with a hint of delicate and elegance. I love the idea of the harsh, urbanized side of NYC and its buildings being mixed together with the col ful, nature side New Y k also has to offer such as Central Park.

Spring 2016, Vikt & Rolf hit the runway with their haute couture collection, it was certainly like no collection bef e. The pair of them always like to test the limits of fashion and its wearability, this was shown with this collection, as it was inspired by warping a simple white tennis dress and combining a face onto each one. I love the way this collection has pushed boundaries, stretching fa ics into the unusual by f cing them to be spiralled, ruffled and shaped. I feel like line up is so powerful, not only have every outfit so unique and out there, but the fact it is all created in white fa ic makes me feel like it’s a canvas f ourselves to put our own impressions on it.

CarolineAchaintre
While spending time in Newcastle the Baltic have had some exhibitions on, these two were ones what caught my eye. The first one was by Caroline Achaintre, her w k was a mixture of media used such as textiles, prints, watercolours and ceramics. Her pieces were full of colour and creativity which each one different to the next. It was said that the room was playful looking and absurd. My favourite pieces of hers were the textile hand tufted wool wall hangings, they were evoking the spirit of a European carnival.

Strange Feelings
The second time I visited this exhibition was on, it was created by Monica who is one of the most vital artists who came about during the mid 1990’s. Her w k investigates the relationships between subjects such as architecture, gender, power and space.
