Summer 2022 Marketing Campaign June 6 - September 16 This summer we’re turning the volume up with “Everything You Want”—from a fresh new wardrobe, to a must-try new restaurant—and all of the wants in between. The summer creative is jubilant warm and fun - giving off all those summer vibes. Starting post-Memorial day, new on-site signage will be installed on the properties and our digital assets and ads will begin populating online and on social media. You may even notice that our summer events - like Shop & Sale and First Fridays - play off the summer campaign's colors and images to create a universal look and feel. Take a peek at the campaign collateral and listen to the Spotify playlist, curated for our lifestyle publication, sonder/sway.

Upcoming Events Shop & Sale | Congressional Plaza & Wildwood The weekend of June 3rd-5th Kick off summer with shop & sale event all weekend long. Get ready to show off the best of what's new this season and your end of spring sale merchandise. Restaurants should highlight new and seasonal menu items and drinks. Pooch Portraits | Congressional Plaza Saturday, June 4th at 11am As part of the Shop & Sale event at Congressional Plaza, we’re partnering with Pooch Portrait Studios and inviting customers to the neighborhood to take one of a kind pictures of their furry friends! This event is first come, first served for the first 75 pups. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a ticket. Find the Facebook event here.


Upcoming Events First Fridays | Rockville Town Square June 3rd, July 1st, August 5th, September 2nd & October 7th

A merchant communication about the event was sent last Friday the 13th. If you missed the email you can view it again here. FIRST FRIDAYS kicks off at 5:30pm with live music on the square beginning at 6pm. Retailers: You encouraged to open your doors and bring your merchandise onto the sidewalks. Sale signage is encouraged. Restaurants: You are encouraged to promote food and drink specials that are exclusive to the event. Event day signage and sign holders will be provided. Upcoming Events ZERO Prostate Cancer Run | Westpost Saturday, June 18th - 8am This 5k Run/Walk will begin and end at the courtyard at Westpost. Road Runners is participating as a race partner and will be offering free shoe fittings and demonstrations. Elements Massage will also be on-site during the race. Summer Solstice Picnic | Bethesda Row & Village at Shirlington Tuesday, June 21 Celebrate the turn of the seasons with our Summer Solstice Picnic. This ticketed event invite guests to share a three-course dinner at a community table decorated by local event planner Picnic & Peonies. A picnic will be hosted at two locations: Bethesda Row - featuring Spanish Diner and more to come The Village at Shirlington - featuring Stellina, Cheesetique, and Astro Doughnuts


News Virginia Approves To-Go Cocktails and Deliver for Two More Years Earlier this month, Virginia State legislature passed House Bill 426 and Senate Bill 254, extending the alcohol delivery and to-go cocktail policies put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new extension includes several requirements to ensure safety for to-go cocktails. For example, alcoholic beverages must: ● ● ● ● ●

Be enclosed in a container that has no straw holes or other openings. Display the name of the licensee from which the alcoholic beverages were purchased. Be clearly marked with the phrase “contains alcoholic beverages” Have a maximum volume of 16 oz. per beverage. Be stored in the truck of the vehicle or in an area that is rear of the driver’s seat, in a locked container or compartment.
