Have a great December !!!

During the years we have all come across something weird but yet intriqueing in our lives, through parties ect. I only noted that those things were some of the most dangerous things my eyes would be on , even just seeing how it has grown since my teenage years , scares me to the bone. I would dread the day that my little girls should come across something that i once saw as a highlight in my life, you would tell all your friends about it , and everyone would be so scared but yet so intriqued with the information gathered and stories to tell , the rush it gave you as a teenager, you would go and research the subject, yet only a small hand full would fall into the trap , whilest the interest of the subject dies away with your maturity . Now that i am a grown up , and looking after my own youngster, the research is not intriqueing or gives me some sort of excitement , its a blunt fear of what lurkes where i weren’t looking as a teenager, the reality of these things are staring us in the face, eventhough the media somehow suppresses this , to avoid the contraversay to sustain within readers of different religioun . Honestly i do not care about who i offend or what, this is something that we all should be aware of , esspecialy when raising a little one, whom will most probably have much more exposure to this when they enter the teenage stage. I did some research into the matter , and found that most Occult crimes are not even seen as news worthy anymore, they are swept under the carpet or just seen as a usual act . Some courthouse rituals , like finding pieces of slaughtered animals ect outside judge homes ect , is not even reported anymore, where ages ago, the people would stand together to put an end to this madness. In our era they have their freedom to express theirselves , but do they really know what they are dealing with and with how many lives they are playing .

Some of us know what a occult is , by what we have heard and seen, but as you look deeper into the subject you would find that there is alot more to the subject as we may have taken to mind. The dictionary describes an occult as oc·cult/əˈkəlt/ Noun:

Supernatural, mystical, or magical beliefs, practices, or phenomena.

Adjective:

Of, involving, or relating to supernatural, mystical, or magical powers or phenomena.

Verb:

Cut off from view by interposing something.

Synonyms:

adjective. secret - hidden - mysterious cryptic - mystic - privy verb. eclipse - cover - obscure - hide screen - conceal

Hollywood have created a very warped image of occult studies, leading many to use the word as synonymous with black magic and demon worship.

Occultism is often considered roughly synonymous with esoteric and mystical, two far less threatening terms often used in conjunction with branches of mainstream and alternative religions alike. Occult Organizations There are a wide variety of organizations which are acutely occult in their focus and commonly describe themselves as occult, esoteric, or both. Some of the more well known organizations include:

In truth, the occult is something both much more general and much less inherently threatening. The word literally means "hidden," which is why multiple scientific fields use the term. When a medical test detects something existing in too small of an amount to be visible, for example, they describe it as occult. The Study of Hidden Knowledge In religion, occultism or occult studies is the study of hidden knowledge. This in and of itself can be interpreted several ways, including: 

Knowledge kept from the wider population, offered only to initiates after proper preparation. Reasons for this commonly include the belief that such knowledge is dangerous to the unprepared, and that revealing sacred knowledge to the common populace profanes that knowledge

Knowledge disguised by God for only the select few to comprehend. Multiple Renaissance occultists, for example, wrote of the Book of Nature, that is to say, the physical universe. Within this book are clues and messages, left by God, which can be found and deciphered by those both educated and worthy.

Knowledge of realms, energies, or abilities not recognized by the general populace. The most common use of the term occult in this way is in relation to the practice of magic, but in a wider sense anything supernatural or paranormal might be included.

Jim Bramlett Said “The two words, "cult and occult," sound similar. But while different, they both pose a similar spiritual threat to people by appearing to be something they are not. Both can cause its victims to miss God's loving and free provision for their lives through Christ, and cause them to face a tragic, Christless eternity. There are many nice, friendly and caring people in the cults and the occult. God loves them, so much that Christ died for them. They are not our enemy. Our enemy is Satan and his deceiving spirits” The Occult The word "occult" refers to what is hidden, concealed, or secret. The occult involves the spirit world, but the spirit world of darkness. The occult is particularly deceptive because the spirit world is very real. Practitioners are dealing with reality -- but dark, forbidden, and evil reality. There are two kinds of spiritual reality. The first is God's spiritual Kingdom of truth and light, where Christ is King, the nature of which is "righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17), and where God's holy angels dwell, worship and serve Him. The second is the world of Satan (a fallen angel), a world of darkness and hopelessness, void of God,

and where other fallen angels (called demons) who hate God work to advance this evil kingdom under their leader, Satan. This latter world of spiritual darkness is that which is experienced through the sinister practices of the occult. The Bible does not reveal a "dualism," or co-equal forces of good (represented by God) and evil (represented by Satan). Satan is totally subject to the sovereign, omnipotent Creator. But God has given Satan certain authority to operate in the earth as a result of man's sinful fall. He operates through the minds and wills of fallen humanity, and he has constructed a complex web of many evil schemes, including occult practices, even religions, to deceive and snare people by appearing to offer them access to supernatural power and knowledge. The Bible says that such deception will increase in "the last days" before Christ returns (1 Timothy 4:1). But the Bible also says, "The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). Those who trust and obey Jesus Christ have protection and victory through Him. Any degree of occult involvement can produce problems of oppression, depression, despair, hopelessness, and many physical problems, sometimes bringing death, even self-destruction. Demonic influence can produce obsessions, phobias, bizarre behavior, violence, homicide and sexual perversion in its victims. Worse, it can deceive a person into eternal darkness. The occult is a form of idolatry and a sin expressly forbidden by God (Deuteronomy 18:9-12). In the New Testament when the gospel was proclaimed and received, the liberated people gladly burned all their occult materials (see Acts 19:19). Here are just a few of the many occult practices: astrology, various kinds of "fortune telling," witchcraft, satanism, ESP, telepathy, clairvoyance, seances, spiritism meetings, use of mediums or "channeling," automatic writing, ouija boards, hypnosis, parapsychology, psychic surgery, eastern religions, reincarnation, voodoo, magic charming, yoga; involvement with psychics such as Jeane Dixon, Edgar Cayce; the Rosicrucians, and the New Age Movement. The New Age Movement is a catchall term

embracing many modern occult beliefs and practices. There is even compelling evidence that UFOs are real, but supernatural and often occult manifestations of fallen angels whose ultimate purpose is to deceive humanity into thinking super-intelligent extraterrestrials will help usher the earth into a golden "New Age" of happiness without God. But with God rejected and without His blessings, occultpracticing, lost and depraved humanity will soon bring upon itself the end-time global holocaust prophesied by the Bible. If you are now or have ever been, anytime in your life, involved with any cult or occult practice, you can be set free of it and any symptoms it may have brought by doing the following: (1) Confess sincere faith in and commitment to Christ; (2) confess the cult and occult sins to God, naming and forsaking each one; (3) renounce Satan, in Jesus' name, and commanding him and his demons to depart; and (4), receive and claim your liberation by faith, without doubting, trusting in the authority and total faithfulness of God and His

Word. If you do this, Satan must obey and release you, by the authority of Jesus' Name and God's Word, and any symptoms that Satan put on you must disappear. References. “Depression can only be understood by those who experience it themselves” – UnknownWe all meet someone or are that someone that suffers from depression, and in our age this condition can be found very frequently in young adults, whether its noted or just a stage in the lives. Its inevitable in our busy lives to not have some sort of anxiety or depressing moments, it has become norm to suffer from depression. if you look back at the lives of our parents and the lives of their parents, the difference is astronomical. Live reconstructed itself in just a few years. Let‟s start at the beginning, to enable you to understand what happens in your body , which enables the feeling of falling away. Take note, that there has not ever been a physical scientifically proven method to establsish whether a person has depression or does not , but This is what we found the most usefull information in understanding what you are going through ; You‟ve probably heard the term “neurotransmitter” before, but what does this really mean? Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers within the brain that facilitate communication between nerve cells. Let‟s illustrate with serotonin. Figure 1 depicts the junction between two nerve cells. Packets of serotonin molecules are released from the end of the presynaptic cell (the axon) into the space between the two nerve cells (the synapse). These molecules may then be taken up by serotonin receptors of the postsynaptic nerve cell (the dendrite) and thus pass along their chemical message. Excess molecules are taken back up by the presynaptic cell and reprocessed. Several things might potentially go wrong with this process and lead to a serotonin deficit. Just to enumerate a few possibilities:

Not enough serotonin is produced,

There are not enough receptor sites to receive serotonin,

Serotonin is being taken back up too quickly before it can reach receptor sites,

Chemical precursors to serotonin (molecules that serotonin is manufactured from) may be in short supply, or

Molecules that facilitate the production of serotonin may be in too short supply.

As you can see, if there is a breakdown anywhere along the path, neurotransmitter supplies may not be adequate for your brain‟s needs. Inadequate supplies lead to the symptoms that we know as depression. Provided by ArmMed Media Revision date: July 5, 2011 Last revised: by Tatiana Kuznetsova, D.M.D.

Serotonin”, the “

Genetic factors

Overworked immune system

Brain damage caused by excessive alcohol consumption

Long-term depression, stress or anxiety

Happy hormone ” is responsible for boosting one‟s mood and well-being. The World Health Organization for instance claims that there are as many as 121 million people worldwide who are facing depression at the hands of serotonin deficiency. Anti-depressants like Prozac are designed to bring a balance in brain chemicals and for the brain to increase the level of serotonin. However, no such medication should be taken without a thorough medical examination and without consulting a doctor. What is Serotonin? Serotonin is a chemical produced in the brain which is meant to regulate the moods of a person. For example, anger, body temperature, sleep and appetite are all controlled by the levels of serotonin in one‟s brain. Experts opine that sufficient serotonin in the brain keeps us relaxed and feeling good. On the other hand, when the serotonin levels fall, people suffer from sudden bouts of irritation, anxiousness and depression.

Effects of Serotonin Deficiency Serotonin deficiency can lead to the following: 

Migraine

Eating disorders

Irritable bowel syndrome

Stress and anxiety

Sleeplessness or insomnia

Attention and memory problems

Obesity

Fatigue

Depression

Panic attacks

What Causes the Deficiency of Serotonin?

Treatment for Serotonin Deficiency

Serotonin is acquired from an essential amino acid called “

There are some drugs and therapies which can help manage or boost the levels of the happy hormone or serotonin in the brain like Prozac, cognitive or holistic behavioral therapy and more. Some effective ways to boost the happy hormone are listed below:

tryptophan ”, which is not produced by the body. Dietary efforts can alone ensure sufficient levels of tryptophan in the body. Other factors that can lead to the deficiency of serotonin are:

Tryptophan rich diet

Avoid sugary foods and carbohydrates that can boost the blood sugar levels

Vitamin B and C, magnesium and zinc intake can convert the tryptophan amino acid into serotonin

Herbs such as burdock, ginseng, dandelion, etc can help boost the levels of serotonin in the brain

Tablets such as 5-HTP or „hydroxy L-tryptophan‟ can be taken to boost the levels of the happy hormone but with the consent of a doctor

Acupuncture can be another way of relieving stress and boosting the levels of serotonin production in the brain with the help of tryptophan amino acid

Yoga, tai chi, walking and other stretching exercises are ways to boost the serotonin levels in the brain

Sunshine can also ensure sufficient serotonin levels in the brain that can keep you feeling rejuvenated, fresh and happy

Snack on healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, juices, rice cakes, etc

Have plenty of water (about 8 glasses in a day)

Drink herbal and dandelion tea at least once daily

As you can see, the most effective way to keep the serotonin or the happy hormone alive and bubbling in your brains would be to stick to suggested meal programs. Also try eating as much natural tryptophan that will enable the optimum production of serotonin to keep you happy and healthy through the days to come. Hormones are powerful chemicals that help keep your body functioning normally, your bones strong, your brains acute, and your sex life potent. Hormones are involved in almost every biological process in your body including sexual reproduction, growth, metabolism, weight control, aging, as well as immune function. Hormones, especially estrogen, play a critical role in our bodies that go well beyond alleviating the typical symptoms we all know of: hot flashes and night sweats. Hormones actually affect your brain, your cognitive ability and mental acuity or sharpness, short term memory as well as mood. The problem with hormones arises when women become peri-menopausal or menopausal and your ovaries either decrease or stop producing sufficient amounts of the hormones estrogen, progesterone, as well as testosterone. The drop in hormones that occurs, particularly estrogen, will have profound effects on memory and mood, ability to maintain your normal weight or lose weight, and your overall sense of well-being. The Role of Estrogen:The change in estrogen levels that occur, even as early as peri-menopause, causes a disruption in chemicals in our brain called neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters including Seratonin, Dopamine and Gaba are all diminished when estrogen levels decline. They are also essential for maintaining mood, energy levels, sexual function decreasing stress, and improving upon sleep. Estrogen's effect on mood is due to its ability to decreased seratonin levels and endorphins when levels are

low. When estrogen levels are balanced, under normal hormonal states that we achieve through our program, women experience a dramatic improvement in mood. Estrogen actually protects nerves in your brain and encourages the formation of new communications between nerves. Many women we see have developed symptoms of depression, anxiety, and mood swings due to fluctuating or declining estrogen levels. The good news is, there is hope and treatment is available. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above or below, I strongly urge you to have your hormone levels checked for deficiencies. Once I have your blood work and take a detailed history, we can initiate our program that naturally and effectively alleviates symptoms due to both hormone and brain chemistry imbalance. Symptoms of Estrogen Deficiency 

Foggy Thinking

Hot Flashes

Night Sweats

Dry Scaling Skin

Increased number of Fine Lines in Skin

Short Term Memory Loss

Depression or Mood Swings

Headaches

Vaginal Dryness

Loss of Libido

Urine Leakage

Sleep Problems

Low Energy

Weight Gain

Progesterone Progesterone, like estrogen, has a multitude of effects throughout the body. Many of the effects of progesterone can be attributed to its ability to oppose or counter-balance the action of estrogen. Multiple physical and psychological problems at midlife are often caused by an imbalance between progesterone and estrogen, rather than a specific deficiency.Similar to estrogen's affect on the brain, the brain is also highly responsive to progesterone. Insomnia, anxiety, and migraines are just a few of the conditions linked to an imbalance of progesterone. Whereas estrogen has an excitatory effect on the brain, progesterone's effect is calming. Our goal is to establish the

optimum natural hormone balance of both estrogen and progesterone. It is possible and can be tailored to meet your individual needs at the lowest dose needed.Imbalance between Progesterone and Estrogen Symptoms: 

uterine lining excess tissue buildup

breast tissue overgrowth

blood sugar level imbalance

thyroid hormone dysfunction

depression and anxiety

abnormal sleep patterns

cyclical migraines

Low libido.

Testosterone Testosterone is a hormone that is not only vital to men, but also women. Testosterone is an important sex hormone in women that not only regulates sex drive (libido), but also helps regulate bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength as well as energy levels. Like men women produce testosterone, albeit in smaller amounts, in their bodies as well. When levels are low, women experience not only loss of libido, but also weight gain and low energy and depression.

Increased Mood Swings , Hot Flashes, Anxiety, not to mention Aging and sagging of the Skin and changes in Sexual Function and Response. A non-invasive lab test can help you determine your hormone levels if you are experiencing even 1-3 of the symptoms we discussed. Testing will determine what natural, alternative, or medical therapies should be used to correct the imbalance and disruption in your body's hormone regulation. For our patients with hormone imbalance, I use bio-identical natural hormones combined with specific dietary changes, antioxidants and nutritional supplements. This approach safely and effectively addresses the symptoms of decreased hormone levels as well as nutrition, weight loss and inflammation associated with aging. Once you begin your treatment you will be delighted with the improvement in Appetite Control and weight loss, heightened libido, mood stabilization, improvement in your skin, and increased energy. SIGNS, SYMPTOMS, CAUSES,

Symptoms of low testosterone: 

Decreased sex drive (poor libido)

Increased depression

Fatigue (Get tired easily)

Inability to concentrate

Decline in memory and cognitive skills

Decreased muscle mass and strength

Loss of body hair

Sagging Skin

Abdominal fat (Pot Belly)

Psychological symptoms: such as swinging mood, depression, anxiety, lack of vitality and sleep problems.

Achieving Hormone Balance You should now be familiar with some symptoms of hormone imbalance that occur during peri-menopause and menopause including changes in Mood, Irritability and

Feeling down from time to time is a normal part of life. But when emptiness and despair take hold and won't go away, it may be depression. The lows of depression make it tough to function and enjoy life like you once did. Just getting through the day can be overwhelming. No matter hopeless you feel, you can get better. But first, you need to understand depression. Learning about depression—including its signs, symptoms, causes, and treatment—is the first step to overcoming the problem. Common signs and symptoms of depression 

Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. A bleak outlook—nothing will ever get better and there‟s nothing you can do to improve your situation.

Loss of interest in daily activities. No interest in former hobbies, pastimes, social activities, or sex. You‟ve lost your ability to feel joy and pleasure.

Appetite or weight changes. Significant weight loss or weight gain—a change of more than 5% of body weight in a month.

Sleep changes. Either insomnia, especially waking in the early hours of the morning, or oversleeping (also known as hypersomnia).

Anger or irritability. Feeling agitated, restless, or even violent. Your tolerance level is low, your temper short, and everything and everyone gets on your nerves.

Loss of energy. Feeling fatigued, sluggish, and physically drained. Your whole body may feel heavy, and even small tasks are exhausting or take longer to complete.

Self-loathing. Strong feelings of worthlessness or guilt. You harshly criticize yourself for perceived faults and mistakes.

Reckless behaviour. You engage in escapist behaviour such as substance abuse, compulsive gambling, reckless driving, or dangerous sports.

Concentration problems. Trouble focusing, making decisions, or remembering things.

Unexplained aches and pains. An increase in physical complaints such as headaches, back pain, aching muscles, and stomach pain. Unemployment or underemployment

Health problems or chronic pain

We all have some sense of curiosity when it comes to germs and where they might be. We even refer to these things as entities like they , it , he , or she, even sometimes just that. We know they are there, some of us care about where, others just don’t let it bother them, but tend to ask questions later. Germs are not only in and around our daily lives, they linger in places we rarely look or expect them to be, worst of all is, they don’t necessarily attack us per say, but our space is unfortunately their space also, and we either learn to live together, or we learn to eliminate the invasion of our personal space. Therefore it is essential for us to know exactly where they are or may be , to ensure the elimination is done more frequently. These are the most basic places where they will be. Public Bathrooms "It's prudent to assume virtually any surface in a public restroom carries germs," says Craig Conover, MD, MPH, medical director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. These germs may include intestinal bacteria, such as E. coli and Enterococcus, which cause diarrhea. The main risk of infection comes not from sitting on the toilet, but from touching the seat, stall door or sink with your hands and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth -- the usual points of entry for common germs. Avoid it by : If you want to leave with clean hands," Conover advises, "wash your hands for the proper amount of time -- 15 to 20 seconds -- and avoid touching contaminated surfaces afterward." If the sink is not motion-activated, use a paper towel to turn off the faucet so you won't contaminate the hands you just washed. Lennox K. Archibald, MD, hospital epidemiologist for Shands HealthCare affiliated with the University of Florida, tells WebMD healthy people are not likely to get sick from a public bathroom if they "wash their

hands properly with soap and water." He adds that the elderly, people undergoing chemotherapy, and anyone with a compromised immune system should be especially diligent about hand washing. This includes children. Restaurants We've all seen the signs requiring restaurant employees to wash their hands after using the bathroom, but who's checking up on this? Improperly washed hands can easily taint food with fecal matter, introducing infectious bacteria or viruses. Raw foods can also expose you to a wide range of bacteria, including Salmonella, Shigella, and Campylobacter, Archibald says. Even ordering your food well done is not a guarantee against exposure. If a kitchen worker handles raw foods and then touches your dinner plate or freshly baked rolls, he can contaminate your cooked food. Avoid it by : "Choose which restaurants you patronize," Conover says. Check with your local government for inspection results or look for the inspection certificate on site. In addition, avoid raw or undercooked foods. Always order your hamburger well done and send it back if it's pink in the middle. Your Workplace Phones, desks, and computer keyboards are germ magnets, according to a study by University of Arizona microbiologist Charles Gerba, PhD. The study, funded by the Clorox Company, suggests surfaces used by teachers, accountants, and bankers are the germiest. Avoid it by : Moser recommends disinfecting your workspace yourself, particularly if you share your desk, computer, or phone with other employees. One option is to coat surfaces with a disinfectant spray, "but don't wipe it off. You have to let it dry." Airplanes

When you have so many people in close quarters for hours at a time, germs thrive, says Archibald. He tells WebMD upper respiratory viruses and intestinal bacteria can spread easily during a flight. In addition to the obvious risk of a neighbor with a bad cough, the surfaces throughout the cabin and particularly in the lavatory can harbor germs Avoid it by : Moser and Archibald recommend disinfecting your seat when you board. Wipe the arms, tray, and window with alcohol-based antiseptic wipes. Use a hand sanitizer after visiting the lavatory, and if you need to change your baby's diaper, disinfect the changing tray first. Moser also suggests avoiding the lavatory on short flights, bringing your own magazines, and staying hydrated to help protect against respiratory illnesses.

germs immediately. Crypto can survive for days even in a properly disinfected pool. Avoid it by : The CDC offers these tips: 

Avoid swallowing pool water or getting it in your mouth.

To protect others, don't swim when you have diarrhea.

Shower before swimming.

Wash your hands before returning to the pool after using the toilet or changing a diaper.

Don't let your child swim if he or she has diarrhea, and use rubber pants for young children who are not potty trained

Hotels and Motels

Movie Theaters

You may have heard that the bedspreads in hotels are never washed, but don't worry. Archibald says these are not likely to spread germs. Bigger concerns are bathrooms that have not been properly cleaned, contaminated surfaces such as doorknobs or phones, and bed bugs living in the mattress or headboard.

Similar to an airplane, movie theaters draw many people into close quarters for a couple of hours. Moser points out that viral infections can be contagious a day before symptoms appear, so people with colds or flu may go to the movies without knowing they are sick

Linn Haramis, PhD, an entomologist with the Illinois Department of Public Health, tells WebMD that bed bugs are becoming an increasing problem in many areas of the country. He says they are not disease carriers, but "the bites can cause allergic reactions, and the 'ick factor' is not something most people are happy with."

Avoid touching your eyes or nose during the movie and wash your hands after leaving the theater. To protect others, watch movies at home when you are ill.

Avoid it by : Ask the manager for a different room if the bathroom doesn't seem clean, or if there are brownish-black spots along the mattress seams or headboard -- bed bug excrement. Even if the room looks clean, Moser recommends using a disinfectant spray on the phone, nightstand, bathroom counters, and other surfaces you might touch with your hands. Swimming Pools The CDC has recorded an increase in recreational water illnesses over the past decade. The most common problem is infectious diarrhea, which can be caused by germs such as Giardia, Shigella, Norovirus, E. coli, and Crypto, short for Cryptosporidium. A pool is easily contaminated when someone with diarrhea goes swimming, and chlorine doesn't always kill the

: Day Care Centers : During a diaper change, children may get fecal matter on their hands and then touch a toy. When another child plays with the same toy and then sucks his or her thumb, infection can occur. This is called fecal-oral transmission, and Archibald says it's a common source of diarrheal illness in children. Since young kids love to put things in their mouths, shared toys can also become contaminated with saliva. Avoid it by : Ensure your children are immunized appropriately and avoid sending them to day care when they are sick, Moser advises. In addition, make sure your day care provider washes children's hands after a diaper change. Schools

As Moser puts it, "Any gathering of children is a place of questionable hygiene." Even though school-aged children may have grown out of habits like thumb sucking or putting toys in their mouth, they may be less than diligent about washing their hands when they should Set a good example by washing your hands often at home, Moser suggests. Teach kids why it's important to wash hands after using the bathroom or before eating meals, and show them how to do it properly. Your Home You don't have to leave home to have a close encounter with germs -- just travel as far as your kitchen or bathroom. According to Moser, raw foods frequently contaminate kitchen surfaces with bacteria, which aren't killed when you wipe off the counter with a wet cloth or sponge. As for the bathroom, intestinal pathogens can contaminate the toilet seat, flush handle, towels, doorknobs, sink, and other surfaces you might touch after using the toilet. Avoid it by : Keep in mind that cleaning is not the same as disinfection, Moser says. His advice: 

Clean kitchens and bathrooms regularly with bleach or a color-safe disinfectant spray.

After handling raw foods, wash cutting boards and knives with soap and hot water.

Microwave wet sponges for one minute to kill germs.

Change hand-drying towels often.

Close the lid before flushing the toilet to keep germs from contaminating nearby surfaces.

Your Doctor's Office You may not think of your doctor's office as germy, but remember that you are sharing a small space with many people who may have infectious illnesses. Waiting room chairs, doorknobs, toys, and even your doctor's clothing can become contaminated. According to Archibald, those most at risk for picking up germs at the doctor's office are patients who have some type of medical procedure. Avoid it by : Try to avoid touching doorknobs or other surfaces, or wash your hands afterward. When taking

your child to the pediatrician, bring toys and books from home. Speak up if you don't see your health care provider wash his or her hands before your exam or procedure, Moser warns. "Say, 'I don't want to be disrespectful, but would you please wash your hands.'" Hospitals "More people die from hospital-related infections every year than from car accidents," Moser says, citing CDC data. This is not because hospitals are unsanitary, but because there is a high concentration of germs and vulnerable people in the same place. There is also increased risk of exposure to bacteria that are resistant to treatment with antibiotics. "The area of hospitals with the most infections is the ICU (intensive care unit)," Archibald tells WebMD. Intensive care patients may have compromised immune systems, along with surgical wounds or medical devices that can introduce germs. "Patients need to realize this is a risk," Archibald says. Avoid it by : The Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths recommends looking for hospitals and surgeons with a low infection rate ahead of any planned procedure. In addition, always ask hospital staff and visitors to wash their hands before touching you. Your vacuum cleaner Researchers at the University of Arizona recently found that 50 percent of the vacuum brushes they tested contained fecal bacteria, including 13 percent with E. coli, and all were packing mold. Vacuuming can transfer the germs from contaminated surfaces to uncontaminated ones (think kitchen to living room). Avoid it by : Spray the brush with a disinfectant after every use — traces of bacteria can survive as long as 5 days inside the vacuum after you empty the dirt. And disposable-bag vacuums promote more bacterial growth, according to the study, so buy the bagless variety. Your weight-lifting gloves A 2004 Japanese study found that staph bacteria bind strongly to polyester, which is used in many gloves. And yes, that includes MRSA bacteria, which lurk wherever jocks gather. You grab the bar, grunt a

weight, wipe your eyes, nose, or mouth, and the bacteria are in.

hard surfaces. If it's a popular joint, hundreds of people could be passing their germs on to you.

Avoid it by : Ditch the gloves, and not just to ditch the germs: Hitting the weights with bare hands will strengthen your grip and forearms, says the Men's Health Muscle Guy, Mike Mejia. If your gym doesn't keep disinfectant wipes and alcohol-based hand sanitizer handy, insist that it start doing so.

Avoid it by : Never let the menu touch your plate or silverware as you ponder the wine list, and wash your hands after you order. But how do you escape the bathroom without touching the door handle? Palm a spare paper towel after you wash up, and then use it to grab the handle. Execute this trick properly and nobody needs to know how much you fear germs. The lemon wedge in your drink

The grocery cart The handles of almost two-thirds of shopping carts tested in a 2007 University of Arizona study were contaminated with fecal bacteria. The carts had even more of these bacteria than the average public bathroom has Avoid it by : Swab the handle with a disinfectant wipe before grabbing hold — stores are starting to provide them, so look around. And skip the free food samples, which are nothing but communal hand-to-germ-tomouth zones. Finally, bag unpackaged items, like fruits and vegetables, before placing them in your fecalmatter carrier. Your cart, that is. Gym equipment A 2006 study in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine found rhinoviruses (instigators of the common cold) on 63 percent of the gym equipment at the fitness centers they tested. Researchers also discovered that weight equipment was contaminated significantly more often than aerobic equipment (73 percent versus 51 percent). Even worse, the study found that disinfecting the equipment twice a day didn't do anything to lower the virus count. Avoid it by : Avoid touching your face between sets, since most colds are transmitted through hand-tonose contact. And make sure to pack an alcohol-based hand sanitizer in your gym bag. The restaurant menu

Ever see anybody wash a menu? We didn't think so. A recent study in the Journal of Medical Virology reports that cold and flu viruses can survive for 18 hours on

In a 2007 study from the Journal of Environmental Health, nearly 70 percent of the lemon wedges smashed onto restaurant glasses contained diseasecausing microbes. Researchers ordered drinks at 21 different restaurants, securing 76 lemons. Testing revealed 25 different microorganisms lingering on the lemons, including E. coli and other fecal bacteria Avoid it by : Tell the waiter you prefer your drink sans fruit. Why risk it? Your shower curtain The soap scum hanging out on your curtain is more than just unsightly. A study in Applied and Environmental Microbiology found that vinyl shower curtains are microbe meccas, breeding potential pathogens, such as infection-causing Sphingomonas and Methylobacterium. Plus, the force of the shower spray will make germs take flight, says the study author, Norman Pace, Ph.D., a professor of molecular biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Avoid it by : Hang a fabric shower curtain from the rod. It will still harbor bacteria, but it's much easier to clean than scrubbing down a vinyl curtain. Just toss it in the washer, and use the hottest water the fabric can handle. Pace washes his shower curtain once a month but advises anyone with a weakened immune system (that's you if you're highly stressed or battling a disease) to do so more frequently,

So we met him, and were absolutely stunned at the person he is. There is no in between’s nor any hidden agendas to his music. He is a complete bliss behind a pair of decks. It was an absolute pleasure spending time with him, excluding the fact that his music is good, he is very inspirational. This is how we saw him; he is a strong young man, who enjoys his music , and the company of genuine and good people, even though he has reached fame to some point , it seems like it did not go anywhere near his head, he is professional , trustworthy and a down to earth person. This is what he had to tell us about himself. RYAN BLISS DJ PROFILE I’m Ryan Bliss DJ, currently residing in the South of Johannesburg, my love for music started at a very young age, and I got my first set of decks in High School, not knowing at the time what the hell I was doing, I started playing around on them and teaching myself the Art of mixing, bearing in mind this was all on turntables and vinyl’s, before I knew it, I was considered as being a pretty good turntablist. I am an extremely competitive person, and this made me want to do more than just mixing records, I wanted to produce my own tracks, and manipulate sounds to my liking, but bearing in mind what people also would enjoy... As time went on I enrolled at the University of Johannesburg “UJ” to further my studies in Law, whereby I completed my B.Com Law and LLB degree’s. During my varsity years I landed some gigs at various clubs, and campus events. However in my final years at varsity I had to concentrate on finishing at UJ and DJ’ing unfortunately had to take the back seat. My goal was that 2012, shall become the year to return and make a my mark in the industry, which I did, securing a residency slot at Provocative Night Club, and featuring at numerous clubs and some major events in Gauteng, and alongside SA’s TOP DJ’s and Artists and a few International DJ’s too. During the day I am a full- time Candidate Attorney ,with a law firm specialising in mostly Criminal and labour law, and appearing every day in Court. I live an extremely challenging lifestyle, considering I’m full time involved in both DJ’ing and as a Candidate Attorney. My Next Major Event will take place on 1 December 2012, namely “ We Own The Night – Rock The Bus” alongside 20 Top SA DJ’s whereby we Hit 9 Top Night Clubs in Johannesburg and Pretoria in one 24 Hour Non Stop ultimate clubbing experience! I have also been booked to play at Clubs in Durban, Margate and Port –Elizabeth during December. I believe each Artist should be unique and create their own style, a style that will best describe their own

being, but still be attractive in such a way to make them stand out from the rest. Each time you find me behind the decks, you can be sure of one pumped up crowd, a crowd always asking for one more song when the set is done... the secret I use is to interact with my crowds on each beat or drop, and have them not only hear the music but feel it and live themselves into any vocal meanings a track might have, making them feel they are part of the music that I spin. I have accomplished my goals for 2012 and now with 2013 around the corner, I am aiming higher setting greater goals and wanting to Improve the Ryan Bliss DJ brand double what it is now, and also play at more gigs around SA more often. In SA we have so many clubs playing different genre’s, hence therefore I decided to become a hybrid of the industry , being versatile and able to adapt to most music environments as my style consists of Deep, Tech, Progressive , Dirty and Jackin House to Mainstream Commercial Club, Electro, Trance and Hardstyle, all depending on the event/ floor/ or what the club is known for playing, bearing in mind that I won’t play a genre until I fully understand and feel comfortable with my sets of it. I regularly release my various mixes for download on Hulkshare and Soundcloud for the love of music. To FTVOM this was one of our most inspirational interviews in a long time, Ryan live for what he does, and his speed is not easily broken when he hits ups or downs in life, his girlfriend is incredibly supportive, and the team takes our hats of to her, she supported him throughout the whole interview, and had only positive feedback for us. We would like to thank Ryan for his time to inspire all our readers. Making it clear to us all that if you have the talent and the dream protect and thrive upon it .

Preparation: Soak rose petals, then crush them in a bowl. Add the rosewater, yogurt and honey. Mix well and apply to the skin. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse. Model Shalom Harlow calls this homemade face mask (only 2 ingredients required!) "moisturizing and soothing." Prep Time: 2 minutes This mask, based on roses, is perfect for balancing out the oily and dry areas of your skin. Ingredients: 

Optional: 6 fresh rose petals

2 tbsps rosewater

1 tbsp natural yogurt, room temperature (not lowfat or non-fat)

Total Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients: 

2 egg whites, separated from the yolk and placed in a bowl

2 tablespoons of plain yogurt (I like Greek yogurt)

Preparation: Separate the egg whites from a couple eggs and place them in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt (do not use flavoured yogurt!). Mix them up and apply to face. Leave on face for a few minutes then rinse face in warm water, followed by a warm washcloth.

This face mask is suitable for all skin types and is super simple to prepare. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin. Prep Time: 3 minutes 

1 tbsp runny honey (to get honey runny, you can warm it in a microwave for a few seconds).

Total Time: 3 minutes Ingredients: 

1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground

1 tbsp live, organic yogurt (skip the flavored stuff)

A few drops of honey

More recipes: Coffee and cocoa masks have long been a favorite of beauty aficionados. As a combination, they decrease puffiness in the face and the eye area, brighten skin and wake up a dull-ish complexion (hello caffeine!).

Preparation: Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together. Warm a few drop of honey. To do this, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, then add a few drops of honey to the spoon. Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture. Apply the mask to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse off with several splashes of warm water. Follow with a warm washcloth.

What I love most about this mask is that the ingredients are so readily available in the average person's kitchen and you can use so many substitutions based on what's currently in your cabinets or fridge. While coffee and cocoa powder are the staples of this popular mask, you can tailor it for your skin type by adding yogurt or cream and honey if you have dry skin or lemon juice if you haveoily skin. If you have super dehydrated skin, oils work as a substitute for dairy. Ingredients: 

4 Tbsp. finely ground espresso or coffee beans (I use my own grinder, but already ground coffee and even instant coffee work, too)

4 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder (your basic Hersheys is perfect here)

8 Tbsp. dairy product. Choose whole milk, heavy cream, yogurt (must be unflavored!), almond milk or coconut milk. Use less dairy if you like a thicker paste. Substitutions are allowed: Try an egg instead of dairy if you are an egg mask lover, or substitute oils, such as olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil or almond oil if you have dehydrated skin. If using oils, halve the amount or it will be too runny.

2 Tbsp. honey (if you have dry skin) or lemon juice (if you have oily skin)

Apply moisturizer. Sugar is a preferred exfoliant to salt because it tends not to tear at the skin. When dead skin collects on the surface of skin, it's important to slough it away. This helps clear up clogged pores. When skin isn't exfoliated, it can appear ashy. Ingredients: 

2 tbsp sugar

3 tbsp warm water

Preparation: Stir sugar into warm water so that it melts. Make sure granules are dissolved, otherwise they could tear your skin. Apply to the face. Gently massage around the skin. Rinse with warm water OR I like to take a warm washcloth that's steamed in the microwave. Make sure the washcloth is not too hot.

Preparation: If you have whole beans, finely grind beans in a grinder. Remember, beans should be finely ground so they don't scratch your face. If you just made coffee, you can use the freshly brewed coffee grounds, although they won't contain as much caffeine. Mix coffee and cocoa powder in a bowl. Add the dairy product and stir until a smooth paste forms. You can use less dairy if you like a thicker paste. Stir in the honey. (I like to warm up the honey in a warm water bath or in the microwave so it mixes better). Apply the paste to your clean face and neck. Let the mask dry. Wet a washcloth and press it to your face to loosen the mask, then rinse with warm water. If you have sensitive skin, you should avoid rubbing your face because the coffee grounds could potentially scratch your skin. It's really up to you, you'll get a feel for what your skin can take and how finely ground the coffee is. You can store the leftover paste in the refrigerator for several days.

Copper wire lends its metallic color to the unique look of these hooks. iStockphoto/Thinkstock Materials: 

22 inches of 2-millimeter-diameter copper wire

6 inches of 1-millimeter-diameter copper wire

wire cutters

round-nose pliers

mole grips

ring-bending pliers (optional)

OHP pen

Instructions: 1. Print the template (PDF format). Cut a 22-inch length of 2-millimeter-diameter copper wire. Follow the template, starting from the end marked with a star on the template. Using round-nose pliers or ring-bending pliers, bend the wire, checking your work against the template at regular intervals. When you come to the first tight loop, bend the wire up to the middle of the loop, then mark this point with

an OHP pen. The end of the wire should go under the curve you've just bent. Bend the wire loosely round and close the loop up by pressing on either side with the mole grips. Continue bending the wire, following the template, until you reach the apex of the leaf shape. From this point on, the end should go over the curve of each loop. 2. When the whole leaf shape is complete, you'll be left with several inches of wire for the hook section. Straighten this section of wire out. Bend the wire back on itself after 2 inches. Use the mole grips to close the loop. 3. Bend the loop for the screw, fixing on the end of the doubled wire, and trim off any excess. Bend the loop that will be the end of the hook gently downwards about 1/2 inch from the end. Make the bend to form the hook about 1¼ inches back from the loop. 4. Use a pair of bolt cutters to provide a key just below the base of the leaf. The 1-inch section of wire that was the starting point for this project fits behind the doubled wire that forms the hook. Bend it so that it follows the curve of the loop. Bind with 1-millimeter wire, cutting the ends so that they tuck neatly behind the hook.

10 Step Beginner’s Guide Meditation helps you to grow your own intuitive faculty. It becomes very clear what is going to fulfill you, what is going to help you flower. – Osho Life can get a little crazy at times. The hectic pace and demands we face on a daily basis often leave us feeling stressed, overworked, tired and even unhappy. Meditation is a simple, effective and convenient way to calm your busy mind, relax your body, become grounded and find inner peace amidst the chaos of day-to-day life.

position for meditation is sitting. Sit on the floor, in a chair or on a stool. If you are seated on the floor it is often most comfortable to sit cross-legged on a cushion. Comfort is key. Now imagine a thread extending from the top of your head, pulling your back, neck and head straight up towards the ceiling in a straight line. Sit tall.

I was first introduced to meditation at twelve years of age by my grade school drama teacher. At such a young age I didn’t have much to stress about, but even then I was drawn to the benefits of meditation. I loved quieting my thoughts, feeling present and enjoying the deep sense of relaxation and peace that came from meditating. Throughout my life I have continued to explore various approaches to meditation and have discovered how profound the benefits can be.

2. Relax your body Close your eyes and scan your body, relaxing each body part one at a time. Begin with your toes, feet, ankles, shins and continue to move up your entire body. Don’t forget to relax your shoulders, neck, eyes, face, jaw and tongue which are all common areas for us to hold tension.

Newcomers to meditation often feel intimidated. They imagine a monk sitting in lotus pose for hours on end atop a mountain. But the reality is that meditation is much easier and accessible than most people realize. Here is a simple 10 step beginner’s guide to meditation: 1. Sit tall The most common and accessible

3. Be still and silent Now that you are sitting tall and relaxed, take a moment to be still. Just sit. Be aware of your surroundings, your body, the sounds around you. Don’t react or attempt to change anything. Just be aware.

8. How to end your practice When you are ready to end your practice, slowing bring your conscious attention back to your surroundings. Acknowledge your presence in the space around you. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Begin to move your hands, feet, arms and legs. Open your eyes. Move slowly and take your time getting up.

4. Breathe Turn your attention to your breath. Breathe silently, yet deeply. Engage your diaphragm and fill your lungs, but do not force your breath. Notice how your breath feels in your nose, throat, chest and belly as it flows in and out. Read more: Stop & Breathe 5. Establish a mantra A mantra is a sound, word or phrase that can be repeated throughout your meditation. Mantras can have spiritual, vibrational and transformative benefits, or they can simply provide a point of focus during meditation. They can be spoken aloud or silently to yourself. A simple and easy mantra for beginners is to silently say with each breath, I am breathing in, I am breathing out. 6. Calm your mind As you focus on your breath or mantra, your mind will begin to calm and become present. This does not mean that thoughts will cease to arise. As thoughts come to you, simply acknowledge them, set them aside, and return your attention to your breath or mantra. Don’t dwell on your thoughts. Some days your mind will be busy and filled with inner chatter, other days it will remain calm and focused. Neither is good, nor bad. 9. When to end your practice There is no correct length of time to practice meditation, however when first beginning it is often easier to sit for shorter periods of time (5 to 10 minutes). As you become more comfortable with your practice, meditate longer. Set an alarm if you prefer to sit for a predetermined length of time. Another option is to decide on the number of breaths you will count before ending your practice

9. Practice often Consistency is more important than quantity. Meditating for 5 minutes every day will reward you with far greater benefits than meditating for two hours, one day a week. 10. Practice everywhere Most beginners find it easier to meditate in a quiet space at home, but as you become more comfortable, begin exploring new places to practice. Meditating outdoors in nature can be very peaceful, and taking the opportunity to meditate on the bus or in your office chair can be an excellent stress reliever. Meditation is a simple, effective and convenient way to calm your busy mind, relax your body, become grounded and find inner peace amidst the chaos of day-to-day life. Begin meditating today and reap the rewards.

In April 2000, the California State Athletic Commission voted unanimously in favor of regulations that later became the foundation for the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. However when the legislation was sent to California's capitol for review, it was determined that the sport fell outside the jurisdiction of the CSAC,

mixed style contests throughout Europe, Japan, and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s; In Japan these contests were known as merikan, from the Japanese slang for "American [fighting]". Merikan contests were fought under a variety of rules including points decision, best of three throws or knockdowns, and victory via knockout or submission. As the popularity of professional wrestling waned after World War I it split into two genres: "shoot", in which the fighters actually competed, and "show", which evolved into modern professional wrestling.

In September 2000, the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board began to allow mixed martial arts promoters to conduct events in New Jersey. The intent was to allow the NJSACB to observe actual events and gather information to establish a comprehensive set of rules to effectively regulate the sport. On April 3, 2001, the NJSACB held a meeting to discuss the regulation of mixed martial arts events. This meeting attempted to unify the myriad rules and regulations which have been utilized by the different mixed martial arts organizations. At this meeting, the proposed uniform rules

In November 2005, recognition of mixed martial arts effectiveness came as the United States Army began to sanction mixed martial arts with the first annual Army Combatives Championships held by the US Army Combatives School.

live events. The time limits in most professional fights are three 5 minute rounds, and championship fights are normally five 5 minute rounds. Similar motivations produced the "stand up" rule, where the referee can stand fighters up if it is perceived that both are resting on the ground or not advancing toward a dominant position.[35]

Doctor Stoppage: the referee will call for a time out if a fighter's ability to continue is in question as a result of apparent injuries, such as a large cut. The ring doctor will inspect the fighter and stop the match if the fighter is deemed unable to continue safely, rendering the opponent the winner. However, if the match is stopped as

In Japan and most of Europe, there is no regulating authority over competitions, so these organizations have greater freedom in rule development and event structure.

Other fighters may use the clinch to push their opponent against the cage or ropes, where they can effectively control their opponent's movement and restrict mobility while striking them with punches to the body or stomps. Randy Couture used his Greco Roman wrestling background to popularize this style en route to six title reigns in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Ground-and-pound Ground-and-pound is a strategy consisting of taking an opponent to the ground using a takedown or throw, obtaining a top, or dominant position, and then striking the opponent, primarily with fists and elbows. Groundand-pound is also used as a precursor to attempting submission holds. This style is used by wrestlers or other fighters wellversed in submission defense and skilled at takedowns. They take the fight to the ground, maintain a grappling position, andstrike until their opponent submits or is knocked out. Although not a traditional style of striking, the effectiveness and reliability of ground-and-pound has made it a popular tactic as it was first demonstrated as an effective technique by UFC and Pride grand prix champion, Mark Coleman, then popularized by fighters such as Don Frye, Frank Trigg, Frank Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. Matt Hughes[45] Today, strikes on the ground are an essential part of a fighter's training.

Submission grappling Apart from being a general martial arts, submission grappling is also a reference to the ground fighting tactic consisting of taking an opponent to the ground using a takedown orthrow and then applying a submission hold, forcing the opponent to submit. While grapplers will often work to attain dominant position, some may be more comfortable fighting from other positions. If a grappler finds themselves unable to force a takedown, they may resort to pulling guard, whereby they physically pull their opponent into a dominant position on the ground.

wrestling, judo, Sambo, and shoot wrestling. They were popularized in the early UFC events by Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock.
