FEI Canada membership Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada) is the all industry professional membership association for senior level financial executives. With eleven chapters across Canada and more than 2,000 members, FEI Canada provides professional development, thought leadership and advocacy services to its members. Professional development: Events FEI Canada is recognized as an industry leader in providing professional development programs and cutting-edge content for senior financial executives. Through targeted programs such as our National Breakfast Seminar series and National Executive Development Webinars, FEI Canada meets the current and future needs of financial executives.
Professional development: CPD credits FEI Canada’s CPD Center provides access to educational resources. A significant number of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits are available to FEI Canada members as part of their membership, many of which are at no incremental cost. Networking: Chapters You don’t have to travel far to reap the benefits of FEI Canada. There are plenty of educational, social and networking occasions available through our local chapters. Networking: Social media After joining, you can network using the FEI Canada LinkedIn discussion group, which is available to members only. This allows members to freely discuss common issues of importance, and seek advice from their fellow executives. FEI Canada also has a Twitter account, regularly updated to let members know the latest news in regulatory and accounting matters of interest. Another place to find updates is our Facebook page, where you can also see recent pictures from FEI Canada events, and catch up on our e-newsletters.
FEI Canada has an impact on policy On the national level, FEI Canada’s technical committees research and consult on issues of importance to our members. By making our positions known to policy-makers, regulators and standard setters, FEI Canada has an impact on how policies are developed.
Advocacy: FEI Canada’s Technical Committees FEI Canada has several technical committees composed of members who are subject matter experts. These groups work for the benefit of FEI Canada’s members to provide them with timely information updates. The technical committees also act as counsel to both the federal government and the national and international accounting policy makers. The Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation (CFERF) CFERF is the research institute of FEI Canada, with the primary objective to study emerging financial management issues with the aim of increasing competitive capabilities of Canadian financial leaders and their organizations. FEI Canada members are engaged by CFERF in surveys and focus groups. The results of this research is compiled to produce specific reports specifically for financial executives. CFERF is governed by a board of trustees comprised of FEI Canada members. This knowledgeable group of senior financial experts provides advice and counsel on CFERF research and fundraising activities.
FEI Canada award programs Canada’s CFO of the YearTM Award Canada’s CFO of the YearTM Award was established by FEI Canada in 2003 to recognize and honour the best in Canada’s financial leadership. The Award is given annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to business in Canada through vision and leadership, corporate reporting and performance, social responsibility, innovation, and business complexity. The Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award Member volunteers are the backbone of FEI Canada. Volunteers are a vital component to our operations and the greatest FEI Canada brand ambassadors. Providing enormous value at both the National and Chapter levels, volunteers are crucial to our various administrative and advocacy committees. Each year, the Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award seeks to identify and reward FEI Canada members who have significantly impacted FEI Canada over the years.
FEI Canada national conference FEI Canada’s Annual Conference attracts more than 300 senior financial executives who come together to explore best practices, innovative solutions and tools for success. This must-attend event features keynote speeches and in-depth panel presentations by prominent executives and Canadian thought leaders. Attendance at this conference provides finance executives with comprehensive updates on the latest issues and developments facing CFOs. This three day event moves to a different Canadian city each spring.
