SWEETGEORGIA VOL 1
2 | Fall with SweetGeorgia Vol. 1
here and there, the fires of autumn spark with colour I’m not sure if it is the soft crunch of the fallen leaves under my feet or the aroma of wood being chopped for fireplaces in the winter, but fall is the season that makes my soul sing. The month of September rolls around and I am filled with romantic, nostalgic longings of life, growth, and the way things change when you least expect them. It’s a time to go inward, to discover what needs to be let go and what new amazing things need to be learned. In fact, I’d wager that those inner experiences are why knitting is so powerful. It offers the same beautiful process: the chance to uncover that quiet moment inside, to challenge everything you thought you knew, to learn something daring and amazing. And when you add in the emotional effect of vibrant colour and soft, delicious fibers ... well, it’s easy to imagine that knitting could very well lead to inner peace. I hope that the stunning patterns in our Fall/Winter lineup inspire, delight, and encourage your knitting passion throughout the upcoming chilly months. #sweetgeorgiayarns fiber-filled hugs,
Tabetha Hedrick Design Director, Knitwear SweetGeorgia Yarns 3

OUR YARNS There is something impossibly alluring about hand-dyed yarns. Everything from the vibrance to the subtle nuances in shade and hue capture the heart as well as the imagination. Hand-dyed yarn has the feeling of being alive. Ten years have passed since I dyed my first skein of yarn at my dining room table. Today, our yarns and fibres are hand-dyed at our studio in Vancouver, Canada by a team of passionate and skilled artisans. Over the years, the things we collectively believe, practice, and value have converged and interwoven to become the fabric of “SweetGeorgia.” For many, SweetGeorgia has become synonymous with vibrant, saturated colour and luxury yarn. But for us, it’s about more than yarn. We are driven to inspire, engage, and educate people in colourful and creative self-expression, bringing light into people’s lives.

FALL WITH SWEETGEORGIA VOL. 1
DESIGNERS Jill Wright has been knitting for over 40 years now. Her Mom taught her well in England, and she still loves to experiment with knitting when she can. Jill is also loves to crochet and yearns to blend the two crafts into one garment. She also teaches Jazzercise and raises 3 boys with her husband in her mountain home.
woolcrafting.com Corrina Ferguson knits and designs in Florida where it is, sadly, too hot to wear wool. One day, maybe she will be a reverse snowbird who vacations in New England in winter so she can wear all of her handknits.
picnicknits.com
Andrea Grunden lives in Decatur, IL with her husband and three kids. Her hobbies include knitting, crocheting, spinning, sewing and all things fiber and crafty.
Triona Murphy spends most of her days happily hunched over her laptop and/or knitting. When she’s not designing, she writes young adult novels and is working toward getting them published someday.
trionadesigns.com
Shireen Nadir lives in Toronto, where she indulges a myriad of fiber-related hobbies, including spinning, dyeing and weaving, and a myriad of notfiber-related hobbies, like pottery, jewelry and martial arts training.
thebluebrick.ca
Mindy Wilkes lives in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and two children. Besides designing, she works and teaches knitting classes at her local yarn store. Her patterns can be found on Ravelry and have appeared in Interweave Knits, Knitscene, and Pom Pom Quarterly along with several books.

Heather Zoppetti is a knitwear designer, teacher, and author of Unexpected Cables (Interweave, 2015) and Everyday Lace (Interweave, 2014), as well as the owner and founder of Stitch Sprouts, a service company dedicated to helping your stitches grow. She lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with her husband and yarn collection.
hzoppettidesigns.com To Meg Roke, there is nothing more satisfying than slipping fiber over her fingers and round a set of needles to transform simple string into something both beautiful and practical. Add a warm cup of tea, chocolate, and a period piece drama and this former special education teacher transforms into one very happy knitter! Meg’s designs are simple, wearable and usually involve stash busting. Linda Marveng is a Norwegian who loves to design feminine garments with the added texture that cables and lace knitting give. She studied art history and worked first for architecture firms in London, then for Rowan Yarns as a design consultant. She continues to design, proofread knitting books and magazines, translate patterns, and offer workshops.
marveng-puckett.com Emily Wood lives in South Carolina and spends most of her time chasing after her four-year-old twins. She teaches history part-time and squeezes in knitting whenever possible.
Yvette Rose Noel grew up in Northern Ontario, in a small town called Kapuskasing where the winters were long and the summers short. Her mom taught her how to knit when she was seven years old. Her first project was a pair of mittens that she and her mom knit together. She picked up knitting again when she was expecting her first child and has never stopped since. Kirsten Singer has been knitting for over ten years and has had designs published by KnitPicks, Knit.Purl, Knit Now, and Holla Knits (an online magazine), as well as independently. Through those experiences, she’s learned more than she ever thought possible about knitting, and about herself.
