By Felix Hansson I want to create spaces which go beyond predictability. Spaces which creates a broader perspective on what the physical environment can perform. it creates an interesting and eventful experience and plays the viewer a tick on the eye. The present of such a place should bring joy, happiness, thoughtfulness or other desired feeling. These spaces should be given multiply usage and a possibility to modify and transform depending on the circumstances. I want to create a new kind of public space, where the experience of the city gives you a new perspective. You will see already known objects in a new point of view and thereby broader your
frame of reference. Add verticality and possibility to experience public, manmade areas in an outdoor vertical dimension, a vertical plaza. For the concert hall I want to create equal space qualities outside, on the public roof, as well as inside the building. It gives an opportunity for interaction between person and person, but also between person and building. The interactions are not constrained by the visual connection, also music, physical vibrations and movements tributes to an interaction and an identification with the built environment. By these features I want the visitors at the vertical plaza to be in contact with the activities which take place inside the building.
Process
Investigation of folding principal. Different folds create different space, with a big variety of qualities and possibilities. The different spaces are in constant relation to each other. A fold could work on many levels and scales; it could be the creator of the whole structure, be the background for a room or just a entry of light. It could be pointing at a specific direction to enhance a feeling, or clarify a view.
Investigation of verticality. Different vertical condition and vertical movements, intertwine function and form to explore the connections with the ground. The verticality creates a view for the visitor and is a eye catcher of the city. It gives the observer a clear idea of what is happening inside the building.
