Reclaimed Relic - Elephant

The curious, calm elephant stands in quiet observation. The hallway is illuminated by sunlight, spilling in through the open window and from the staircase. Once grand and opulent, the vaulted ceiling is painted in shadow, with glimpses of the sky peeking through the cracks. Jack Wild creates depth and atmosphere in his work, using skilful techniques and considered palettes. The combination of painterly texture and depth of tone gives the work a mysterious ambience.

A symbol of wisdom and gentleness, the elephant is captured with soft and textural brushstrokes. The light and shadows add contrast and depth, creating a unique and eye-catching composition. The foliage slowly reclaims the interior, adding colour and freshness to the stone walls. Subtle tones of green are echoed throughout the artwork. The subject matter encourages imagination, inviting the viewer to explore themes of place and time.

Reclaimed Relic - Lion

A symbol of strength and courage, the lion stands majestic and still. The artist creates a striking composition using skilful and innovative techniques. Warm, golden tones glow against the earthy background, with daylight pouring in through the window and door. Using soft brushstrokes and considered colours, the light and shadows are captured effortlessly. Thriving foliage reclaims the room; vibrant greens and yellow reach from floor to ceiling.

Observing the room, the lion is the focal point of the artwork. The off-centre stance contrasts the balance of the overall image. Through the arched door, the hallway stretches into the distance. The interior is reflected in the water, adding detail and depth to the foreground. Encouraging imagination, the viewer is invited to explore themes of place and time. The piece has a mystical and otherworldly feel, a combining ambient tone and texture with the subject matter.
