There has been a surge in seventies interior style and, although the seventies is more often deemed ‘funky’ than ‘chic’, this stylish seventies collection is more than shag rugs and flower power paisley. These prints are seventies sophistication, iconic style with a modern twist, up-to-date and refined but just as free-spirited and relaxed.
This collection is an homage to the highlights of seventies style, kitschy and quirky like a Wes Anderson set design. Style from the seventies featured the textural and tactile, full of layered and mixed patterns, groovy geometry and earthy abstracts. These works are simultaneously soft and structural, inspired by both the luxurious and plush materials like velvet, boucle and shearling and the robust natural materials like rattan and bamboo so prevalent in the seventies. Featuring warm and vibrant colours, from mustard, burgundy and rust to the brighter sapphire and chocolate, these playful prints are a perfect balance of free-spirited and fashionable.

Chloe was born and brought-up in the north of England. Her work is an expressive display of her feelings and emotions and she finds it acts as a cathartic release. Her images are splashed with vibrant colour and elevated by the patterns that she draws.
Chloe is constantly experimenting and likes working with shape, colour and texture. She is looking to establish her own visual language and just adores the opportunity to be creative and in-tune with the contemporary world.

About Matisse’s Studio
An artist's studio is an idea as much as a place, a space in which worlds can be created. Matisse created a sensation of joy and beauty with colours, patterns, magic and light, transforming everyday objects and simple figures into a beautiful world that we can briefly visit.
Matisse's studio was flooded with light from large windows, dark bronze sculptures were silhouetted against the light amid piles of books and drawings. The wall covered with many of his paintings, vibrant and colourful, shimmered in the light.
The artist would withdraw to rest to a darkened private room adjacent, then return later to the bright light.
