Zero Waste Living Because everything starts at home

Reducing plastic its a good way to start saving the earth!! Throughout the years plastic has been used as a material useful for almost everything. It is a really accesible material and very adjustable to each thing. For example whenever I go grocery shopping I try to avoid using plastic bag, but for everything I buy the packaging is full of plastic.

What is zero waste? Introduction

It is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of making products to make them easily reusable. It has as an objective of reducing the consumption of materials like plastic that affect marine life forms and also to reduce the ocean pollution that contributes with climate change. That's why I have created this recipe book, in order for people that want to join this lifestyle or at least that they want to reduce their plastic consumption little by little. This recipe book contains various ways to make your own personal and cleaning products that are used mostly on a daily basis. Now, I know many people do not have the time to do this so I have added some places here in Puebla that sell most of them per liter, meaning you will just have to reuse the same container and just fill it in everytime it finishes.

How Plastic Waste Impacts Oceans

8 TONS OF PLASTIC WASTE ARE DUMPED IN THE SEA, ALL THESE CRITICALLY AFFECT MARINE LIFE FORMS.

THE SUNLIGHT AND HEAT CAUSE THE PLASTIC TO RELEASE POWERFUL GREENHOUSE GASES, LEADING TO AN ALARMING FEEDBACK LOOP. AS OUR CLIMATE CHANGES, THE PLANET GETS HOTTER, THE PLASTIC BREAKS DOWN INTO MORE METHANE AND ETHYLENE, INCREASING THE RATE OF CLIMATE CHANGE, AND SO PERPETUATING THE CYCLE.

Toothpaste

Most toothpaste tubes are made from sheets of plastic laminate – usually a combination of different plastics – often sandwiched around a thin layer of aluminum that protects the toothpaste’s flavor and fluoride. The mix of materials is pressed together into a single film, making it impossible to recycle through conventional methods.
