The reason they have these tiny feet is actually because of stone carving. Back in the days when people needed to carve out Latin letters in stone, the designer would usually paint the letters they wanted with a paintbrush. But the stonemasons would have to carve it out from that painting. And that stone carving created these serifs on the letters. By the Industrial Revolution typography was all about communicating with the masses. Through signs, posters, newspapers, periodicals and advertisements, typefaces became larger and catchier, with bolder lettering and shading—as well as experimental serif and sans serif typefaces. Ornamental typography was another major highlight in thisv era. In the 1800’s, medieval art and hand crafted individual art has become commonplace, and international artistic styles developed considerably.
I am serif.
I am sans.
Serif typefaces are used usually for something quite serious. This is because of their traditional and conservative look and feel.
Sans-Serif are more modern, casual, informal and friendly, great use in graphic design for your on-screen legibility, publishers of children’s books, short sections of text and small type sizes.

Anatomy The Typo Anantomy study helps to clearly communicate complex messages effectively with limited means, especially when the whole design is only using typography, like for example the ‘wordmark’ logo, where you redraw some letters to make them unique. A subtle change in proportion impacts weight, perception, measure, and legibility. The letterform height compared to its stroke width modifies the aspect ratio; a slight change in weight sometimes helps to create emphasis. The disparity between thick and thin strokes, known as stress, alters optical perception. As an example, the first sans serif typefaces used strokes of constant thickness, but subsequent technological advances permit drawing thinner strokes. Condensed type occupies less space than expanded type, so that a whole page of text can be reduced to half a page. The capline and x-height ratio improve or decrease word legibility.

Geometric fonts first gained popularity in the 1920s with the so-called “elemental typography, which was very similar to the ideas of the Bauhaus movement. Modern, technical, futuristic, or even digital appearance. Bauhaus sought to combine the fine arts with crafts by closing the schism between art and industry. It creates an utopian design philosophy based on celebrating the aesthetic with the practical.

Round + Pointy
The fonts selected are very organic, delicate but and the same time strong, the proportion of thin and thick lines gives it a nice beautiful balance. The linear font not only demonstrates the influence of the structured Bauhaus fonts, but also elements of the Art Deco era, the capital letters,in particular.
My Types New Serifs
Displacement - Unique, Modern, personality
Mixing Serifs - nice balance, break of repetition, mix of feminine/ masculine
Type Mix
Drops and curves - movement, smooth, supporting the whole image of the word
