SCALA ROMA
SCALA is a mixed use project that is born from the opportunity to develop a site in the heart of Colonia Roma, in Mexico City.
The concept is born from the integration of the street park (or camellón) facing the avenue, creating a line that would link the public space and make it vertebral to the project’s identity.
The project consists of comercial space on the ground floor, one office level with amenities and a coworking space, while the rest of the levels host the building’s apartments.
Contributions:
Overall design, model making, production of plans, research.

Veta is concieved as a response to the pandemic’s condition of working from home and spending more time within our home environments.
A renovation of my personal bedroom was something that had been on the plans for some time, and these circumstances created the perfect opportunity to kick it off.
The project works with a variety of textures, praising their materiality and natural patina. Also, the reuse of most of the existing furniture was crucial to accomodate design objectives and budget restrictions.
Along with designing all the furniture and built-in additions that would be made, meticulous plant and object curation was a big part of enhancing the user experience; the goal was as follows: only using mexican designers’ products to give life to the space.
Contributions:
VETA
Furniture design, execution, object curation, interior landscaping, lighting design.
Renovation Mexico City, Mexico 17m2
VETA
Lighting was a fundamental part of the space’s concept, as how it would bounce with the natural fibers and wood veneers would enhance the tonal palette of the room.
Also, secondary lighting for work and study activities was added to new enlarged desk.

Sistema.E comes out of an integral urban strategy for the regeneration of the Pesquería River, in the northern part of the Metropolitan region ofr Monterrey, in northeastern region of Mexico.
This plan originated after extensive site research through several site visits, collaboration with the municipal government and workshops integrating the community for participative design.
In collaboration with the studio, we set the 6 principles of regenerative design, which focused on ecosystem restoration, green mobility, identity reinforcement, local and circular economy, better social coditions and accesible public space.
Contributions:
Deep site analysis, Master plan development, urban design, project design, sustainable principles, regenerative design.

Designing on a site in a periferal area of the metropolitan city came with great challenge. With site visits and research, we were able to see how the Pesquería River became a huge barrier, where the people living in its northern part were marginalized, having no good conditions to cross it or access basic services for their homes.

EQUIPAMIENTO

An urban masterplan emerged from the research, where a link between north and south would be woven through the construction of a linear park, while also giving the area important equipment to manage their waste, water crises and to boost their rooting for their culture and surroundings.

ÉCOLE PASTEUR
École Pasteur, my first rehabilitation project came as a challenge during an exchange semester in Paris, where the extension and reconditioning of the school’s facilities were the main focus.
Built in the 1930s, the school had a considerable value in terms of heritage, it was crucial to try to keep as much as possible, while making our intervention have a dialogue between the existing and the new.
During the studio, partial demolitions were alowed, though it was in my biggest interest to try restrict them to a minimum while still covering all the points and necessities of the 1700 square-meter extension.
Different from the rest of my classmates, the decision was taken that I develop the project by myself, and use the group critique to nurture my personal design process having dialogue with the teachers and invited architects.

For the project to perform to the highest standard, it was chosen to use a CLT structure with a skin composed mainly of wood shingles, that will adapt to the curvilinear nature or the intervention.

The link between the two structures creates a double height space, additional to the requested program for flexible use by the school’s users. Also, it would serve as a natural light source for the space, highlighting the beauty of both the existing and the new.
Perspective section
The strategy implemented would allow new pavillion at the back of the site to merge seamlessly with the rest of the structure, creating a trident-like scheme, similar to the one the school haa on the opposite side.
