VISITOR TESTIMONIAL

“HP had a great FESPA Digital 2012, enabling us to demonstrate the breadth of our portfolio and the wide variety of applications and media types our large format S&D portfolio has to offer the industry. We also connected with a high number of good quality visitors, with significant interest in our Latex solutions resulting in many on stand sales. We look forward to repeating this success in London at FESPA 2013.”

“A fantastic show for discovering new technology and inspiring my future plans for new routes to market. Well worth the visit to Barcelona.”

INTRODUCTION FESPA is unlike any other trade exhibition organiser. We are a federation of associations which spans over 37 countries, and is about to celebrate 50 years in the print industry; FESPA was set-up in 1962 to support the growing graphics and signage industry across Europe. When FESPA was created, like today, print businesses were keen to share information and discover new ideas, technologies and products. Our revolutionary founders believed that a trade exhibition provided printers and print business owners the perfect opportunity to achieve this - showing the latest products, as well as access to news and industry information. Since its creation, FESPA has grown to organise numerous trade exhibitions across the world each year, bringing knowledge and information to the global print community - FESPA Mexico, FESPA Digital, FESPA Asia, FESPA India and FESPA Americas. Unique to FESPA as a federation ingrained within the graphics industry, our business model ‘Profit for Purpose’ means we reinvest back into the industry to help support the community and offer print solution providers access to educational content, not only via our exhibitions and industry events: such as conferences, congresses and summits; but also through a number of initiatives where we share information, inspire members, share best practice and help improve the standards of the industry.

CE VISITOR ATTENDAN 2012 AT FESPA DIGITAL A truly international trade exhibition, FESPA Digital 2012, delivered a new audience in its 5th edition of the largest focused event for digital wide format print. FESPA Digital 2012, 21-24 February, took to a new home for the 5th edition of Europe’s largest focused event for the digital wide format print, in Barcelona Spain.

FESPA Fabric 2012 also featured as a main attraction for visitors attending the exhibition, as a show-withina-show dedicated to promoting the wider opportunities for garment decoration and textile printing.

Following on from the record breaking Digital exhibition in Hamburg last year; the move to Barcelona for 2012’s Digital show provided an opportunity for a new audience of print service providers from Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and North Africa to engage with leading exhibitors for digital print solutions.

The shows provided visitors with a rich content of show features, designed to inspire and broaden the knowledge on the wider opportunities for digital print, and to encourage ways in which to diversify their business’ offering.

During the run-up to the 4 day exhibition, 19,108 members of the print industry pre-registered to attend the event, of which 64% (12,178) visited Barcelona.

VISITOR ATTENDANCE FESPA Digital 2012 saw an impressive 12,178 unique visitors from the global imaging industry attend the event from 120 different countries. FESPA’s primary objective for the new location was to engage with a different audience, providing them access to the networking and knowledge sharing opportunities at the show.

FESPA Digital 2012 was located in one hall of the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via, occupying 18,000m² (net) of floor space for exhibitors.

DIGITAL 2012 ATTRACTS A NEW AUDICENCE OF VISITORS The move to Barcelona forms part of FESPA’s objective to extend its global reach to a wider print community; which is why FESPA’s shows move from location to location, to connect with a new audience of PSP’s, updating them on new technology, education and networking opportunities.

Additionally, FESPA produced feature related post cards and visitor newsletters which were also mailed to an audience of 13,000, informing our community of the content, exhibitors and features present at FESPA Digital.

Telemarketing Using direct mail, media publications and other online communication channels to push messages about the show were essential forms of our overall marketing campaign. In addition to this, FESPA executed personal phone calls to its database in English, Spanish, Italian and German to inform them of the show, the features and benefits of attending. This was performed over a 3 month period during the run up to FESPA Digital.

Narrow Format Zone With the theme being the “Wider Opportunities” for digital print, it provided FESPA the chance to showcase to visitors narrow format print equipment, along with conference sessions on how this sector is providing exciting and innovative options for print businesses, beyond wide format print. Along with exhibitors and conference sessions, FESPA, in conjunction with Lyra Research Inc, provided daily research information into the new business opportunity.

Planet Friendly Printing Zone FESPA’s commitment to support the global print industry to become more sustainable was emphasised at FESPA Digital 2012, with the launch of FESPA Planet Friendly Printing Zone. As printers sought to become more environmentally credible – FESPA were able to offer free educational seminars and advice from industry experts onsite at FESPA Digital. The Explore Conference provided a dedicated programme of topics focused on green printing, where visitors were able to learn valuable information on environmental and sustainable business performance. On the FESPA stand, independent consultants, were on-hand for free face-to-face advice.

FESPA Wrap Rally II Expanding on last years Wrap Rally, some of the FESPA team set out on a journey of digital print exploration, for innovation and also to start the count down for FESPA Digital 2012 as the team travelled to Barcelona! A fully wrapped FESPA motor-home set off from London to Barcelona to promote the wider opportunities of print ahead of FESPA Digital 2012. Having been wrapped in the UK with the winning graphic design, a team of FESPA employees drove the large motor-home across several countries, covering approximately 2,400 kilometres in just 7 days. En route, the team stopped at a variety of pre-determined locations, chosen in order to uncover the wider opportunities of print. Once at the exhibition centre, the motor-home formed an attractive exhibition stand, showing footage from the trip and forming a studio for FESPA TV. The Wrap Rally II promoted the wider opportunities in print and the scope for diversification into alternative print markets by the use of interviews, videos, webinars and other live interaction with print service providers throughout England, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Spain. Footage and more information can be viewed at www.fespa.com/wraprally

wrap cup masters series The Wrap Cup Masters Series provided a unique platform for some of the fastest and most skilled vehicle wrappers from within the European region. It was one of the most exciting features at the show with numerous contestants battling it out for the highly acclaiming title of ‘Wrap Cup Master’. In the end the winner was Kiss Lajos from Hungary. Kiss will return to compete at the grand final in London at FESPA 2013 with the champions from other regional FESPA shows.
