FETTES COLLEGE Job Title: Lacrosse – Senior Coach An exciting coaching role at one of the leading Lacrosse playing schools in Scotland. Our girls play Lacrosse primarily during the Spring Term, but they have a pre-season period during the Autumn Term. The College regularly field 9 competitive teams every week from Under 14 to Under 18 and they take part in the National Tournament in England every year. Last season we had national representation at Under 15 and Under 19 level. Summary of Main Responsibilities •
Oversee coaching of the Lacrosse programme at all levels and take a lead role in delivery (in the Games and Activities programmes) with main emphasis being on the 1st X. • In conjunction with the Director of Sport and Sports Administrator plan appropriate weekly Lacrosse programmes for all age groups (under 14 to Under 18) including pre-season, extra fitness and stick skills sessions. • Attend pre-season training during the Autumn Term. • In conjunction with the Director of Sport and Sports Administrator create a competitive fixture list for all of our Lacrosse teams. • Travel with the 1st team squad to the National Championships during the Spring Term. • Where appropriate provide training for fellow colleagues or opportunities for training. Especially in the instance of new staff. • Openly share good practice with colleagues and seek opportunities to improve own practice.
Essential:
Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or the equivalent) Recent playing experience. Creative thinking – How can you help to grow the game of Lacrosse at Fettes College.
Desirable: Level 2 Coaching qualification or above Previous experience within a school or youth setting. Requirement is for approximately 7.5 hours per week, £20/hour, for Autumn and Spring terms 2022/23. Please apply via recruitment@fettes.com.
