Oh, My Aching Back! Did you know that one in five Canadians suffer from chronic pain? Neuroscience PhD Alumna Annemarie Dedek is helping to research potential treatments for chronic pain. Dedek placed third in the Carleton Three Minute Thesis competition last year. Stephanie Norlock, a master’s student in Neuroscience, has been using computational approaches to study the mechanisms driving chronic pain within the spinal cord. She hopes her research will lead to new ways of managing and treating chronic pain.
