That’s why a number of our Carleton graduate programs are highly collaborative, bringing together experts and students from a variety of areas, including cutting across faculties. Supporting Indigenous students First Nations, Métis and Inuit students have access to a wide range of tailored supports and services across campus. Carleton’s Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement provides safe spaces for dialogue and learning through a variety of cultural activities and events, inclusive spaces and student supports. They also deliver resources and training to educate the Carleton community about the experiences, histories and worldviews of Indigenous peoples. carleton.ca/indigenous We’re committed to reinvigorating efforts to support Indigenous learners and bring Indigenous knowledge into classrooms. International Students Carleton is home to many international graduate students who chose to attend Canada’s Capital University making Carleton a distinctly international university. Carleton students represent more than 160 different countries. There are many resources that can help international students at all stages of their academic journey, including the International Student Services Office (ISSO). The ISSO staff is dedicated to helping international and exchange students adjust to life in Canada and to helping them get the most out of their student experience. carleton.ca/isso

These services include: Helping students understand the conditions of their status in Canada, including compre-hending the type of work authorized for study permit holders

Providing information and support from authorized immigration advisors for student applications to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Managing the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for international students enrolled in classes and physically in Canada. Providing international students with the opportunity to connect with fellow students for support in navigating the transition to Canada through the Global PALS program.

Organizing the I-Start Orientation program that helps new international students with their transition to Carleton. Providing international students with opportunities to connect with the Carleton community through facilitated programming such as events and workshops that bring students together. Supporting and encouraging Carleton students to gain international exposure both locally and abroad through volunteer opportunities, international internships and co-op, and participation in exchange or study abroad programs.

Admission Requirements Our master’s programs typically require a four-year honours bachelor’s degree, with a B+ or higher in your major subjects and B- or higher overall. Our PhD programs typically require a master’s degree, with B+ or better in your courses (including your thesis) and no grade below a B.
