Bride&Groom AN INTERVIEW WITH THE

WHO SAID “I LOVE YOU” FIRST? Jasmine: I was the first person to say it. I was really nervous to say it first but I knew Quenton loved me as well because of his actions and how he treated me. Quenton: I did because she’s an amazing woman. She’s one of a kind. DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST DATE: Jasmine: Quenton and I went to the Cheesecake Factory and Dave and Busters for our first date. At the restaurant he suggested I order Red Velvet and Vanilla Bean cheesecake because I was indecisive. I love cheesecake! I knew then he was the one, lol. Quenton: Okay, so I picked her up with the Nissan on 20” something slight, lol, but for real she looked amazing for the first time seeing her. The date was great! It was at the Cheesecake Factory and she wanted two cheesecakes. I let her get them. Afterwards, we went to Dave & Busters. We had fun. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION? Jasmine: My first impression of Quenton was that he was a really sweet, gentle and kind-hearted guy! He kept me laughing and he was very fun to be around! Quenton: At first, I was trying to just take it one step at a time to see what kind of lady she was and if she was really serious about her relationship with God. HOW DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE THE ONE? Jasmine: I knew Quenton was the one because from the beginning of our courtship, his efforts were intentional. I never had to question his loyalty because I have always been a priority in his life. He is the man I prayed for, the fantasy only found in movies and the best friend that will never leave my side. He loves me past my flaws. Quenton: I knew she was the one when I felt comfortable around her to put my guard down and was able to be vulnerable. She gives me hope. She makes me feel I can trust, love and care for someone. She stay on me all the time too, lol, but I know she wants the best for me. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT HIM/HER? Jasmine: My favorite thing about him is how he treat Kennedi as if she is his biological daughter. He has developed a relationship with Kennedi and she absolutely loves him. Quenton: That she is a wonderful mother, she always have my back and she’s intelligent. DESCRIBE HIM/HER IN THREE WORDS? Jasmine: Devoted, Courageous & Chivalrous. Quenton: Kingdom-driven, Loyal, and Goofy. WHO IS THE BETTER COOK? Jasmine: Quenton can cook, but I would say I am probably the better cook. Quenton: Jasmine is the better cook and is truly blessed. Thank you Ashford family, lol! WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY? Jasmine: I am excited about being one with my man and seeing Quenton’s reaction when he sees me walking down the aisle. Quenton: I am excited to see the praises and the presence of the Lord. I am also excited to see Jasmine smile on our wedding day. WHO LEANED IN FIRST FOR THE FIRST KISS? Jasmine: I believe Quenton did, lol. Quenton: I think I did because she was looking so good. WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES? Jasmine: One of my favorite memories is definitely the night he proposed. The Proposal was absolutely beautiful and he included my family and friends. Quenton: Jasmine and I went to an instructor-led horseback riding session. The instructor advised that all of the horses were well behaved, trained and knew the trails. Once we started horseback riding, Jasmine’s horse did not follow the trails with the rest of the horses and did not listen to the instructor. Her horse also took off running out of no where. All I heard was, “ Jesus, Jesus, Jesus”. I was rolling in laughter. WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING THING YOU’VE LEARNED ABOUT EACH OTHER? Jasmine: When Quenton and I first met, he expressed his love to me for dinosaurs. He has always wanted to be a paleontologist. I was very amused at first, but I think that is what makes him unique. Quenton: Jasmine wants to open up her own home healthcare agency for special needs children. She wants to provide speech, occupational, feeding, and physical therapy for the children. She also wants to provide therapy sessions for the caregivers and transportation if needed for the children. I think that’s dope! WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU TWO? Jasmine: Who knows..the sky is the limit. Whatever and wherever God leads us, that’s the next move! Quenton: We’re putting our life in Gods hands. We can do so much damage to the devil’s plan when we stand strong with God and pray together. With God’s help, I will lead my family on a beautiful Journey .

Forever Our Angels

There’s a special kind of love that granddaughters have for their grandfathers. It’s filled with respect for their wisdom and accomplishments, with gratitude for the values they’ve given us and with delight in the stories of our family that they share and remember. A grandfather is a person who brings a little warmth, happiness, wisdom, and love to every soul that he touches. I am grateful for having such a wonderful grandpa. I will miss your wisdom of the many years of experience and the pure love of an understanding heart. Although I only was able to experience 7 wonderful years with you before you went to be with the Lord, I cherish the time that we spent. You were a God fearing man who touched so many lives! Your life was a Ministry! Whether you were ministering in the pulpit, running tent revivals, witnessing to coworkers or traveling the world with your singing group Smith Sisters and family, You meant Heaven all the way! Your life led so many people to Christ! You are a LEGACY and your LEGACY will live forever! I promise to be the Woman of God you would be proud of! I love and miss you very much!

Grandma, I really miss you and love you so much! Your life was a blessing and you were a living testimony! Although it saddens me that you are not able to be a part of my wedding day, I have JOY knowing that you are with the Lord! I know you are here in spirit and your memories will always live on within us. Thank you for your sacrifices, your care and concern, your love, support and everything that you have done for me. Thank you for always wanting the best for your family, for your encouragement and believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself! You are the Virtuous Woman of God, I am striving to be. I promise to try my best to be the wife you taught all of your girls to be and to remember to “ Cook, Clean, and Iron”, lol! I will be forever grateful and thankful that you were my great grandmother! I know one day we will see each other again in glory and we will dwell in the house of the lord forever!

Until we meet again, Jasmine

Hey Pops, I just wanted to say I love you and appreciate you so much. I thank God that I had a father that never ran from being a father and a real man. I miss you so much and I wish you were here for this amazing day. I do wish you could have gotten to know this wonderful woman I’m about to marry because she really makes me happy! I will always cherish all the memories you have and that’s what keeps me happy. Writing this letter is hard for me because it’s still hard to believe you’re gone. But in my sadness, I’m still believing to get stronger in the Lord each day. You are truly missed Pops by everyone. I love you and can’t wait to see you when I get up there! Your children and your grandkids are doing so great! P.S. We are still praying for the Pittsburgh Steelers to have a mind blowing year. I’ll keep you posted on that lol. Love you man, Quenton
