“Daredevil” is a show without fear Why “Daredevil” is the best show on Netflix AJ Minnich, Editor-in-chief In an era where most superhero shows range from okay to really bad, it is incredibly refreshing when shows like “Wandavision” are not only good but are also incredibly unique and refreshing. Some of the biggest complaints for modern superhero media is that they tend to feel extremely repetitive over time, which is completely warranted. Marvel movies have fairly similar plots with the same quippy dialogue, and the CW DC shows all have the same corny dialogue and soap opera story structure. But then there is “Daredevil.” This show is not only the best thing to come out of Marvel, but it is also one the best pieces of filmmaking to come out in the past 20 years.

That may sound like a hyperbole, but every shot, every performance, and every action scene is so masterfully done that the show is easily the best piece of comic book media since “The Dark Knight.” Instead of just being a bombastic blockbuster that relies on mass appeal, “Daredevil” is a 39-episode crime drama that thoroughly takes its time to develop its characters. In a just 13-episode season, “Daredevil” has the stones to have an entire episode dedicated to developing the relationship between a blind lawyer (Daredevil) and his goofy friend. An episode in season 2 is dedicated to two characters discussing morality to further

further show the juxtaposition of Daredevil and the Punisher, all culminating in one of the best action scenes in recent memory. Rarely does a piece of superhero media slow itself down to actually develop relationships and chemistry between characters, but “Daredevil” does it in spades while also remaining consistently engaging and satisfying. “Daredevil” is extremely grounded when compared to other Marvel products. There is no world ending stakes or setups, only the conflict between Matt Murdock and the criminal underbelly of Hell’s Kitchen. While that may not seem revolutionary, it is incredibly refreshing not to have to watch a million other

movies to understand what is going on. While that is not always a problem, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is such an interconnected universe that there is always at least one mandatory movie to watch before a new release. Rarely does entertainment as good as “Daredevil” release, and even more rare does a superhero show even half as good as “Daredevil” come out. Almost every aspect of the show shows that the people making it care not only about the product at hand but also about the characters’ origins in the comics. “Daredevil” is by far the best superhero show, but also one of the absolute best shows on Netflix.

Our final look at Peter and Lara Jean One of our favorite on-screen couples is saying goodbye Alexis Swoyer, Social Media Editor “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” has become one of Netflix’s biggest movie series. So far, the series has come out with two movies in the past three years, the first one in 2018 and the second being pushed off until 2020 because of COVID. A third and final movie rounds out the story. The first two movies explore the relationship of Lara Jean and Peter. The first movie showed how they fell in love, and the second showed some difficulties they were having along with a new love interest John Ambrose.

The third movie definitely was a mix of emotions during the whole movie. There are tears and laughter throughout the whole thing. The movie explores the hardships that most couples in high school face together. I really related to this movie the most because they were worried about breaking up and not going to the same college as the other, which is something that I am struggling with along with many other seniors. Viewers also see Lara Jean and Peter go through another break up that really changes the way

the couple views their relationship and each other. I really feel as if this last movie hits the closest to home for teenagers. Although the plot of the movie is entirely predictable, the emotional aspect is still felt by viewers. Sadly, the third movie is the last out of the series. It ended with the two teens going away to college and trying to figure out their future one step at a time.

Sadly, the third movie is the last out of the series. It ended with the two teens going away to college and trying to figure out their future one step at a time. I definitely the last movie more than the second one; however, I believe that the first one was the best.
