The Best Things To Watch While Stuck Inside understand some of the subtle A list of the best movies and shows to watch during the pandemic details that “The Shyam Patel, Journalism Student These groundbreaking movies The pandemic has left everyone feeling a little bored as people continuously find themselves doing the same things over and over again all day long every day. Everyone has their daily portion of work, and zoom meetings to keep them occupied, but what about free time? People need to take a break once in a while. The problem is that they have nothing to do. A solution to this very boring problem is to watch/rewatch some of the best movie and tv show series to have graced the earth before the pandemic. COVID-19 has stripped us of many new movies and shows that could have been released in 2020, so the best answer is to note the previous years of entertainment. There is a whole world of entertainment that resides in the time before 2020. This includes some of the best movie/tv series that have ever existed. There are a surprising number of people who have not watched these shows and movies, but the large number of people who have should know that they are definitely worth a rewatch. To start off I definitely have to mention the fairly recent MCU movies. There are a total of 23 movies; 20 out of the 23 of which reside on Disney+.

The first of these movies was “Iron Man” which came out in 2008. The latest one would be “Spider Man: Far From Home,” which was released in 2019. Sadly the spider man movies are the 2 out of the 3 missing from Disney+, the other being the long forgotten “The Incredible Hulk.” There are many orders in which to watch these fantastic superhero tales. The main two ways to watch all of these movies are either in chronological order meaning in the order of time period relative to the in movie world, or in order of release date. Either way, there is a sure chance that both new and old fans will have a blast. The next obvious candidate would be the classic “Star Wars” films. There are a total of 11 films which are all available on disney+. The series started in 1977 with the first movie, “Star Wars: A New Hope.” The most recent installation would be “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

have had such a cultural impact on the world yet there are still many people who have yet to see them. The current introverted situation of the world would be a great time for new fans to start watching the films alongside old fans who are rewatching them. The two main ways to watch the movies are in chronological order, or in order of release date. The “Star Wars” universe is still growing with the help of new Disney+ shows that are yet to come except for “The Mandalorian,” which is already out and has just finished its second season.Watching all of the movies would be a great way for new fans to get into the extended universe of the Star Wars shows and then watch “The Mandalorian,” which is a fantastic show. It would also be a great idea for long time fans to rewatch all of the movies as a way to recap their knowledge to

Mandalorian,” and the shows yet to come will have. Another show that I definitely recommend to watch during lockdown would be “Lost,” which can be seen on Prime Video. This mysteriously captivating show is a great choice for when you need to take a break and escape to another world The show is centered around a group of people who have survived a plane crash and are stranded on an island time and time again proves itself to be completely out of the ordinary. The show first aired in 2004 and ended in 2010 with a total of 6 long and amazing seasons. Sure the super old date it first came out can be off putting to people who want a fresh and brand new experience, but the show is timeless due to it being set on a deserted island and focusing on topics we can all relate to such as losing a loved one for example.

Cyberpunk 2077 disappoints fans Highly anticipated game leaves many fans frustrated over the buggy launch AJ Minnich, Editor-in-Chief After three delays in just one year, fans were yearning to get their hands on the highly anticipated game, Cyberpunk 2077. It had become a meme for how many times the game had been delayed with a common one being “we won’t be playing Cyberpunk 2077 until 2077.” Despite the delays, fans eagerly waited for the game to come out. When the review embargo before launch was lifted, many became concerned about some shady practices from the game’s developer such as not allowing review outlets to use their own

footage until launch day and the fact that all review copies were for the PC version and none were sent for consoles. Come launch day, those people were justified in their concern because on base consoles the game is a buggy and sometimes unplayable mess with numerous immersion breaking glitches, unloaded textures, and a myriad of game crashes. Suffice it to say, players were not happy with the launch status of the game. In the game’s announcement trailer, it explicitly stated “coming when it’s ready,” yet

the game is clearly unfinished even on high end hardware. Yes, COVID has significantly hampered their ability to develop the game, but the launch status of Cyberpunk 2077 is simply not acceptable. For a full $60 AAA game, players should not have to wait for months just for the game to be in a polished state. The game’s developer, CD Projekt Red, has issued an apology stating “we should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” In the letter, they also stated the game currently

has two significant updates in the works. One will be in January and the other is February, which will supposedly close the gap between base PS4 and Xbox One to other consoles. Nevertheless, CDPR cannot get a free pass just because of the goodwill they earned with The Witcher 3. If developers such as Bethesda Game Studios, Ubisoft Montreal, and Bioware get flack for launching unfinished games, so should CDPR even if they are seen as the white knights of the gaming industry.

Modifying views on gender roles in society The image of “masculinity” is changing Angelina Triscari, Journalism Student Through the decades, social norms change drastically. People either educate themselves on new topics or change their minds to follow the flow of society. 2021 is bringing another change. In the 70s stars like David Bowie and Elton John ventured into the realm of experimenting with feminine clothing and makeup. Many other rock stars eventually followed suit in the 80s with extravagant and racey clothing and makeup styles. Since these artists were so popular and relevant in mainstream media, people’s minds changed. The idea of men being anywhere

near feminine became a little understandable by younger generations of that time. Yet, there was still a line where femininity in men’s style was acceptable. Beginning in the 2000s, big companies tried to market more gender non-specific clothing items. Capitalist manipulation had once again changed social norms. The December 2020 issue of Vogue contained some controversial pictures of singer Harry Styles in a dress. Many people were offended by the shoot because they believe that people should stay in their lane and not experiment with gender fluidity

In fact, people on social media have started new groups and slogans such as “Bring back manly men” to prove a point that people should stick to their birth-assigned gender roles. Harry Styles does not care about hate because he is backed by a huge fanbase that includes Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, U.S. Representative for New York. By overlooking all the hate, one can see how positively this has affected many people who are struggling with dressing confidently. An important point that is brought into this conversion talks about how many important historical figures would be condemned in

modern times for their clothing choices. For example, King Henry VIII was known for two things: his six marriages and his extravagant and extremely expensive style. King Henry VIII spent about $3 million per year on velvet robes, which is a great example that men can be powerful while being feminine. Society will always be full of critics that feel as though their opinions will have a positive effect on the world. Hopefully, in years to come people will not judge others based on the clothes they wear but on their hearts and minds.
