NIGHTLIFE IN SÃO PAULO

After dark, São Paulo’s mood changes. From laid-back bars where you can sit for a chat and a glass of beer, to upscale nightspots and live music venues, those who can get up later in the morning will be rewarded with a wild nightlife scene that has been compared to New York in terms of diversity and atmosphere. Vila Madalena is one of the city's main area for nightlife. It is a 15-minute taxi ride from the city center. Here, busy bars and samba clubs serve up drinks (including caipirinhas) and live music every night of the week. Jardim Paulista also has a variety of lively haunts, including some British-style pubs. The upscale district of Moema is the location of several jazz bars and clubs, offering a more sophisticated night out. The business district of Itaim Bibi can also be a good place to head for clubbing, and you can listen to several kinds of music. There are a number of vibrant gay spots in the city, with one of the friendliest at R. Vieira de Carvalho. For something slightly more sedate, the Teatro Abril in Bela Vista and the Theatro Municipal have a wide range of performances throughout the year. And, just like its restaurant scene, São Paulo's nightlife reveals the city's amazing diversity. Cosmpolitan and vibrant, there's something for every traveler.

EATING & DRINKING

São Paulo’s gastronomy has a reputation both in Brazil and beyond. Food here is delicious as a rule, and few travelers in the city would disagree with this fame. The traditional São Paulo dining experience is called 'churrascaria'; a kind of all-you-can-eat Brazilian barbecue. It's a unique experience that provides visitors with a great inside the city’s everyday life as well as its cuisine. First, you help yourself to salad and vegetables and then waiters offer up every kind of grilled meat, from beef to seafood. And, best of all for the hungry backpacker on a budget, once the buffet charge has been paid, you can indulge again and again. Alternatively, there are also a large number of 'kilo' restaurants in São Paulo, which operate (like in much of South America) on a weight system from a buffet , in another very cost effective dining option. The city, however, does not just serve local cuisine; there is a thriving Japanese community (one of the largest outside Japan, in fact) in Centro, where seriously high quality sushi can be picked up for next to nothing. But here's the key to eating and drinking in Sao Paulo – while there are many sophisticated, international places, there are also numerous other establishments, in all ranges of prices, offering all kinds of food you can imagine. All you have to do is explore the city to find out your favorites, and live more authentic cultural experiences.

TESTIMONIALS FIA business school is giving foreigners the opportunity to have access to an extremely wonderful land, rich in culture, natural resources and people. It does not only give the opportunity but also have the capacity to teach and appreciate what Brazil has to offer. Moreover, the program fosters a founding and objective principle: the dignity of the bottom of the pyramid, social classes that represent the back bone of Brazil towards which we ought to show respect. We learn and apply, mind the full background from a wide and mature scope from an experienced and diverse staff of lecturers and professors. Finally, FIA Business school has already started to harvest its successes at a very crucial moment of a new era of capitalism and we believe that this will be for long time. Sobhi Elie Bou-Obeid Full-Time MBA Student Class of 2010

FIA International MBA has made it possible for me to have a good rapport with experienced professors and continuous learning, either inside or outside of classroom by exchanging experiences between professors and students. Half of the class is made up by students from the USA, France, Italy, Ukraine, Colombia, Peru, India and, the other half by Brazilians with international experience. This multicultural atmosphere broadens and enriches professional and personal views. Besides that, the activities with the Executive MBA students increase even more the networking, which makes it possible to share experience between executives from different backgrounds of the economy sectors. After 6 months taking the International MBA, not only have I changed the way I see the company where I work at, but also the way other people see me as a professional. Having concluded the MBA I went through several processes at different companies. The International MBA prove d to be impressive and of great relevance to those whom I talked to during interviews. By the end of the MBA two solid offers were made: one at Weatherford as Business Development Manager in Rio de Janeiro and another with GE Oil & Gas as Brazil Service Manager, the latter being that which I effectively accepted.
