Structural Wall

Rain screen design provides a cavity between the exterior cladding and the main structure of the wall. The cavity allows for free drainage of any water which may penetrate the cladding and an air space to promote rapid drying. It also prevents thermal bridging which in turn improves energy efficiency and reduces condensation providing a healthier building.

The Southwest inspired building, designed by Exigo Architecture, features an inviting woodgrain pattern that reveal textures reminiscent of a desert landscape. The mixed-use project converges multiple spaces, each with its own Stonewood panel design. Gray panels accent the Transit Center and playfully contrast the bold design choices of (orange) and (green) panels on the Retail Area. A combination of mixed woodgrains enhance the Parking Garage and a Plaza for Art and Community. The architect explicitly specified Stonewood Panels for the project, citing their architectural adaptability and domestic production â&#x20AC;&#x201C; both which helped the project stay in budget and meet local sustainability ordinances. Northgate Transfer Center is slated for LEED Silver and will be at the center of transit-oriented development (TOD) in Northeast El Paso.

Project Details Tudor Park Business Plaza is an Anchorage icon from the late 80’s. Although the building had lost its architectural appeal, the location and infrastructure remained viable, so the owner opted for an extensive remodel- focusing primarily on an exterior shell overhaul. Stonewood Architectural Panels were chosen for the exterior design, because of their competitive pricing, fast delivery, easy installation, and extensive design offering. Over 550 panels and 1,450 planks were installed over 2” insulation and energy efficient fiber glass girts. First, the black aluminum attachment system was installed directly on the fiberglass girts, then Stonewood panels in various colors and sizes adorned the building exterior. The architect utilized the stylistic benefit of multiple colors and module sizes to give the building a much-needed update.
