IN-PERSON RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS There are three types of in-person events which students are required to attend:

1. New Student Orientation (NSO)

3. Professional Development Seminars

2. Residential Sessions

Over the course of this program, you will need to accumulate at least 600 hrs of face-to-face time between the In-person NSO, Sessions, and Professional Development Seminars.

After successfully completing the 4 week online new student orientation you will be invited to the in-person orientation week held in Santa Barbara, California, in early September.

Sessions are 6-days academic events, which feel like conventions and take place in large hotels. Over the first three years in the program, you will attend 4 Residential Sessions.

Your PDS group will be your ‘home group’ and the faculty leader of the group will be your main faculty advisor/mentor. PDS meetings focus on professional socialization and development. Important: if invited for an admission interview you will be interviewed in-person at the PDS location selected in your application.

First year: 1 Session (usually at the end of the first year) Second year: 2 Sessions Third year: 1 Session

Minimum Attendance requirements are as follows: First Year: 5 days Second Year: 3 days Third Year: 2 days
