MIND

Self Awareness. Our minds are one of our most valuable assets. When we have control over our minds, anything is possible! How often do you catch yourself in negative self talk? Saying things that you would never dream of saying to a friend or loved one? Awareness is the first key. When we are aware of how we are talking to ourselves, we loosen the grip that our behavior has on us. Every time you notice yourself being ‘Negative Nancy’ on yourself - no matter how small or seemingly insignificant - flip it. For example: “I should have done XYZ…'' replace it with: “I am always doing my best”. Remind yourself that you cannot possibly get it wrong. Meditation. Our mind can really be like a loose canon - if we let it be! The best way to train your mind is to meditate. The point of meditation is not to have a mind clear of any thoughts, but more so to be able to control your thoughts. Think of it like strengthening a muscle, much like you would do at the gym. You’re not going to see or feel much difference (if any!) straight away. The muscle is strengthened over time. That’s why it’s called a meditation practice. Start with a few minutes a day and work up from there. Visualisation. I often say that “worry is a poor use of the imagination”. When we are worrying about something, we are bringing ourselves out of the present moment - out of balance - and into a time in the future which doesn’t actually exist. We are investing energy into things that we probably don’t want to happen! Where could that energy be better spent? Thinking and feeling into the things that we do want to happen. This is Visualisation.

BODY

• Movement. As a former Personal Trainer, I know very well the benefits of moving our bodies and having a regular exercise routine. Whether it’s lifting weights in the gym, dancing, yoga or learning the trapeze - find things that excite you and motivate you to move. When you prioritize things that help you to feel really good, you find yourself happier, more harmonious and leading a balanced life. Breath. Your breath is your life force. The fastest way to come back into balance can be as simple as taking some deep, cleansing, grounding breaths. We really do have all of the tools inside of us! I recommend Heart Breathing for added benefits such as: Emotional Resilience, Coherence, Reduced Stress, as well as being an Anti Aging - bonus! Simply focus in on your heart area while you take long, deep breaths in and out through the nose, thinking about something or someone that you love and appreciate. Spend at least 3 minutes practicing this daily to maximise the benefits. Nourish. We’ve all heard of having a “balanced diet”, right? You can keep this really simple by nourishing yourself with the things you know help you to feel good. Lots of clean water, Organic fruits and vegetables and go easy on the refined foods, sugar, alcohol and caffeine. When you eat intuitively - by listening to what your body is asking for - you will naturally find yourself in a much more balanced state.

SOUL

• Space. We are all too often giving of ourselves to others. Putting other peoples’ needs, wants and desires well ahead of our own. Not valuing our own time as much as we do other peoples. If you want more balance in your life, this has to stop, right now! You must become the most important person in your world. Because when you thrive, everyone around you has a greater opportunity to thrive. Give yourself the time out and space you need in order to be able to do this. Follow the nudges. Nothing takes us out of balance more than ignoring our inner guidance! The soul knows and is continually providing the roadmap to bring us further into alignment with our desires. It’s up to us to hear the call, trust ourselves and then take rapid, aligned action. Boundaries. Be OK with asserting your boundaries and saying no when a situation, environment, invitation or person just isn’t in alignment with your highest truth. You always know. If it doesn’t expand or elevate you, it’s a firm “no”.
