NEWS AND NOTES BOWL GAME RESULTS
CONGRATS! We did it, no, YOU did it. Because of your hard work and commitment to excellence, the Fiesta Bowl Yellow Jacket Committee was able to reach our goal and push over $3 million in fundraising! We truly appreciate all that you do and without your help and dedication, none of this would be possible!
What a week! Thanks to all the hard work by our wonderful volunteers, Yellow Jacket Committee members and staff, we were able to provide an amazing experience for the fans and teams that came to Arizona for the Cheez-It® Bowl and PlayStation® Fiesta Bowl. The games, Desert Financial Fiesta Bowl Parade, and the week leading up to those events were fantastic and will be the new standard for which the Fiesta Bowl will build upon to do an even better job next year when the CFP Semifinal comes to the Valley!
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PARTY What a year it was and we’re going to celebrate! Save the date for Sunday, March 3, to join us for the Volunteer Appreciation Party, for food, games, bowling, yearly awards and much more. The festivities run from 11 am to 2 pm at a new location – Main Event in Tempe! New location and even more of the fun we’ve come to enjoy!

NEWS AND NOTES YELLOW JACKET APPLICATION
FIESTA BOWL FIELD DEDICATION
Know someone who wants to become a Yellow Jacket? Know someone who’ll make an impact as a member of one of the most prestigious sports committees in the country? Applications are now officially open for the Fiesta Bowl Yellow Jacket Committee! The Yellow Jacket Committee has been a fundamental part of the Fiesta Bowl organization since its early days, with roles ranging from operating events; fundraising through donations, ticket sales and sponsorships; performing community service; and supporting the Fiesta Bowl with all its activities. Go to https://fiestabowl.org/ to apply and earn a chance to be the backbone of the Fiesta Bowl Organization!
You saw the Cheez-It® Bowl game in person at Chase Field. Some of you even walked on the field. That field was donated to Bullhead City and will be used by the town and the Boys and Girls Club of the Colorado River. We’re dedicating it as the Fiesta Bowl Field on Friday, March 15. Please join us (you may bring a guest as well) to celebrate our organization’s fourth field donation. A bus will take you there and back, leaving the Fiesta Bowl Museum at 10:00 am and returning by 7:00 pm, and lunch is included. RSVP to Jose Moreno at jmoreno@fiestabowl.org.

FIESTA BOWL CHARITIES WISHES FOR TEACHERS, PO W E R E D B Y DRI VETI ME Created in 2016, the Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers, powered by DriveTime program grants classroom wishes to teachers across the state of Arizona. The Fiesta Bowl organization saw that many teachers spent their own money to enhance their classroom experience and developed a program to aid teachers in that effort. Arizona K-12 teachers fill out an online application detailing their school and classroom wish and wishes are selected by a random drawing to receive a $5,000 grant. This past fall, Frank Sagasta, a teacher from Desert Star Academy, received a grant and made a video thanking the Fiesta Bowl.

Y E L L O W J A C K E T S P O T L I G H T: K E L LY P E R U Number of Years with the Bowl: Six years Positions Held at the Fiesta Bowl: New Member Vice Commissioner, Game Operations VIP Check-In Vice Chair, VIP Hospitality Chair at WHP, VIP Hospitality Vice-Chair at Gainey, Sales Coach. Favorite Game: My husband, Ramey and I sat with LSU Coach Ed Orgeron and his wife at the Fiesta Bowl Kickoff dinner where we talked about everything from football to family. That deeper connection made this year’s Fiesta Bowl so much fun to watch! Memorable Moment: I was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2013-14. It was such an honor to be recognized at the Fiesta Bowl Parade and share that with my friends and family. Favorite Job: This year, I was asked to host LSU’s head coach’s wife (also Kelly) and it was an unforgettable experience! I didn’t know what to expect, but she treated me like someone she had known for years. I spent the entire day with her and her family on the field for pregame, taking her to her suite and staying there with her until the fourth quarter where we watched the game from the field so that she could be by her husband’s side when they celebrated their victory! Fun Fact: Ramey and I wrote our own vows for our wedding day. Without knowing it, both of us started our vows with Fiesta Bowl stories since the Fiesta Bowl committee is how we met. Why do you volunteer for the Fiesta Bowl: I joined the Fiesta Bowl committee because I wanted a change from my involvement with engineering organizations. I had gone to many Fiesta Bowl games but I didn’t know anyone on the committee. From my first year until now, I have met so many exceptional people who love being a part of this organization and making a difference in the community. I feel it’s important to continue to volunteer to be a good example for our kids and maybe down the road, we will have 2 more yellow jackets in our family!
