TEAM TO WATCH

TEAM of the week BOISE STATE KANSAS

No. 12 Boise State overcame an early 14-point deficit to rally past San Jose State, 42-21. Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns while breaking the program’s single-season rushing record with 1,893 rushing yards.

The Boise State defense also showed out, forcing four turnovers in the win. Trailing 14-0 in the second quarter, the Broncos outscored the Spartans 42-7 over the remainder of the game.

Late in the third, the Broncos converted a fourthdown fumble recovery into a 36-yard Jeanty rushing touchdown to give Boise State its first lead of the night. Davon Banks capped the scoring with a 70yard pick-six with 1:42 remaining in the game.

No. 12 Boise State will play at Wyoming on Saturday, November 23, at 5:00 p.m. PHX on CBSSN.

For the second consecutive week, Kansas beat a ranked opponent and Big 12 leader when the 3-6 Jayhawks beat previously undefeated No. 6 BYU, 17-13. It is the first time in school history that Kansas notched ranked wins in back-to-back weeks.

Although BYU put together lengthy drives, only one ended in a touchdown. One drive ended with an interception in the end zone by Kansas cornerback Mello Dotson and another ended with a fourth-down stop - the late stand that helped clinch a Jayhawks win.

With BYU leading 13-10 entering the fourth quarter, Kansas QB Jalon Daniels quick-kicked on fourth-and-14 when the Jayhawks drive stalled at BYU’s 36-yard line. His punt deflected off a BYU helmet and Quentin Skinner recovered the loose ball at the 3-yard line to set up the eventual game-winning score.

Kansas aims to play spoiler in the Big 12 Championship race in another ranked game when it hosts No. 16 Colorado on Saturday, November 23, at 1:30 p.m. PHX on FOX.
