WEEK 10 WHAT’S NEW TEAM TO WATCH: OREGON

QUOTE OF THE WEEK “I think the experience of a team in winning games gives them a reservoir, if you will, or reserve of energy and action that they can use in the next game because they know that there’s a great opportunity for them to win.” Kansas Head Coach Les Miles following the Jayhawks’ win over Texas Tech, which is the first Big 12 victory in Miles Era Photo credit of Mike Yoder/KUSports

TEAM OF THE WEEK: KANSAS STATE Cheers erupted and fans rushed the field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in the Little Apple after a 48-41 upset victory over then-No. 5 Oklahoma on Saturday. The last time the Wildcats topped the Sooners at home was in 1996. Junior quarterback Skylar Thompson was on the move, rushing for a career-high four touchdowns. The Kansas State defense also forced a pair of Oklahoma turnovers, turning them into 14 points. Kansas State goes across the state this week, looking to tie its longest win streak against Kansas with the Wildcats’ 11th-straight win over their in-state rival. Kickoff is set for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on FS1.

The Pac-12 is still in the conversation as the No. 7 Oregon Ducks put the nation on notice as a possible contender for the College Football Playoff (CFP). In an exciting “Pac-12 After Dark” matchup, Oregon won a thriller on a last-minute field goal by true freshman Camden Lewis to lift the Ducks, 37-35, over Washington State. Snapping a four-game losing streak against WSU, Oregon is off to a 5-0 start in Pac-12 play for the first time since 2013. Momentum built for the Ducks after CJ Verdell exploded for an 89-yeard rushing touchdown. Verdell rushed 23 times for a career-high 257 yards and three touchdowns. Atop the Pac-12 North, Oregon will travel for another primetime matchup against Pac-12 South leader, USC.
