WEEK 10 WHAT'S NEW

Team of the Week: Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats defeated No. 15 Washington State, 58-37, on Saturday night in Tucson for their first win over a ranked opponent since 2015. Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate had another commanding performance and accounted for over half of the Wildcats’ 585 total offensive yards, rushing for 158 yards and a touchdown and passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Helping Tate set the pace was redshirt freshman running back, J.J. Taylor, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns. The Wildcats’ offensive explosion helped Arizona make the most of its 51 plays compared to Washington State’s 101. With the win, Arizona improved to 6-2 on the season and slid in at No. 22 in the first round of the College Football Rankings.

This Week in College Football History November 3, 1962

College Football Hall of Fame head coach John McKay's No. 3 USC Trojans handed No. 9 Washington its first loss of the season, 14-0, in Los Angeles. Quarterback Pete Beathard threw and ran for a score to carry the Trojans' offense while the USC defense denied the Huskies on three separate red zone trips. The win proved to be vital as USC would eventually win its first of four national titles under McKay and the program’s first since 1939.
