THIS WEEK IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY: NOVEMBER 15, 2014 In the 12th week of the 2014 season, No. 6 Arizona State University’s playoff dreams crashed, losing to Oregon State 35-27. It was a back-and-forth game in Corvallis, with the Beavers taking a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. It was the same story but a different opponent for Notre Dame as the Fighting Irish’s run game was unstoppable, hitting 313 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. The defense continued to play at a high level against Penn State, forcing three turnovers and only giving up 179 yards.
FIESTA BOWL CHARITIES For nearly 70 years, the Franciscan Renewal Center has been renewing lives to those who need it, regardless of race, religion or wealth. They do this through the many programs they offer like legal or spiritual counseling, support groups, and their retreats that help people deal with grief, whether it be the loss of a child or a veteran returning from war dealing with the mental and moral scars from it. The Franciscan Renewal Center doesn’t reject anyone due to a lack of funds or if they aren’t of the same religion, the sign in the front of their building speaks for them: “All are Welcome.” To help fund their programs and their facilities, Fiesta Bowl Charities gave Franciscan Renewal Center a grant during the 2018-19 grant cycle.
