What’s your story?

Figgjo is a family-owned Norwegian company with long traditions. We have fast deliveries and low volume requirements. It is Figgjo’s philosophy that the design of porcelain should add an extra dimension to the presentation of food. That’s why Figgjo is the proud sponsor of The National Culinary Teams of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Netherlands.

Do you have a recipe?

Our products are made from vitreous porcelain, a type of porcelain strengthened with alumina, which makes it strong and resistant to intensive use. Our products contain no substances hazardous to health or the environment. This applies to both glaze and colours.

Our production uses natural raw materials, and we recycle production mass throughout the process. Fired products which do not comply with our quality requirements are downcycled as a filler for construction work, among other things. Dust and flushing water from the glaze compartment is cleaned and the glaze is recycled back to production again.

Describe your workshop?

Some of our products require as much as 52 interventions by human hands during the production process. No wonder they mean so much to us.

At Figgjo we use traditional craftsmanship and a modern machinery to translate classic design into functional and durable porcelain. We have an in-house print shop, workshop for developing and maintaining machines, laboratory for testing materials, our own wastewater treatment plant, photo studio and a showroom. Plus a rock festival (!), which takes place every year in our factory.

Are you sustainable?

Meeting today’s demands without destroying resources for future generations is important. All Figgjo products are 100 % environmentally friendly, contain no environmental harmful materials and do not need to be disposed as hazardous waste. But most importantly, Figgjo products last longer.
