FEATURED STORY – WELCOMING BATCH 2015-17 Pre Term Program of Batch 2015-17 Anxiety, Nervousness, Excitement, and Enthusiasm – All these emotions were abundantly felt by the new batch of FIIBians, Batch of 2015-17, on 8th June 2015. The new batch was welcomed with much gaiety. A special inaugural session was held on the opening hours of 8th June 2015 at the FIIB Campus, New Delhi. It was opened by the FIIB ritual of ‘Lighting the Lamp’ and ‘Saraswati Vandana’ to augment the good learning times by the Director and Dean of the college along with the new batch of students. Director, Dr. Anil Kumar Sinha, and Dean, Dr. Deepankar Chakrabarti, shared introspective and motivating thoughts with the students in their address speech. They congratulated students on selecting FIIB which is one of the leading Business Institutes of the country and wished for a wonderful two year journey.

Pre Term Program of Batch 2015-17 An air of apprehension floated amongst the students of the new PGDM batch (2015-17). There were several questions in the minds of students such as “Will I get adjusted to the new study environment?”, “Will I make any friend in the two years?”, “Whom should I approach to clear my doubts?, etc. To address all student related queries, FIIB carefully designed a two week orientation program, known as ‘Pre-Term Program, was organized for its new students. Pre Term Program serves as a transition into academic and social life at FIIB. Through the quality and integrity of induction sessions during the two week Program, students built the skills necessary to effectively perform and succeed in future group activities in the 2 year Study Program. The Pre Term Program provided the students with the following:    

Information and opportunity to students to explore academic success strategies Ability to function smoothly within FIIB Community Ability to understand the advantages and challenges of a diverse campus community Integrated social support system and a sense of connectedness within the FIIB community

IN THE SPOTLIGHT Masterchef The Food Guide to Successful Teamwork MasterChef, FIIB Pre Term Program’s most awaited event, raised the fervor in the campus with students enthusiastically participating in this team building exercise. The new batch 2015-17 students were divided into groups for the competition. They had to prepare a simple breakfast with the raw ingredients provided to them. This competition was aimed to assess the students on lines of creativity and group performance, at the same time making them adapt to deadline pressure and limited resource availability. GHRDC Session Goal Setting Exercise

Session by GHRDC (Global Human Resource Development Centre) GHRDC conducted Training Program during the Pre Term to provide professional support and training fundamentally aimed at overall improvement in the skills of the students. The session was conducted by Ms. Mekhla Sinha, Executive Director-GHRDC and Ms. Neha Kapoor, Assistant Manager- GHRDC. The students were given practical and much needed insight into the importance of goal setting, interaction and communication skills. The session was packed with activities such as ‘How to set SMART goals,’ ‘Knowing Own Strengths and Weaknesses,’ followed by team building activities and feedback session. It was an eye opener session for the students for leading a successful academic and corporate life.
