Samiksha Singla, 1st year student “ Though it is my exam tomorrow, but the initiative I ran for was worth keeping my studies aside for some time. Thank you FIIB for giving me this opportunity”
Prof. Monica Mor “While I shed some calories, I hope people shed some of their careless attitude towards traffic rules. I saw the lackadaisical attitude that people had towards their fellow runners (not giving way, sauntering & talking while blocking the road, taking shortcuts even for a 6 kms run!). I am sure they carry the same while driving. Hoping there's more agility we view on our roads, for I am sure the runners also drive.”-

From FIIB Community In conversation with Prof. Partha Pratim Saikia If you weren’t a professor you would have been If I were not a Professor, I would have become a Bureaucrat! Appearing and clearing the Civil Services was always a dream during my student days. A film you liked the most and why? I love watching movies; the last movie which appealed the most to me was "Haider", an Indian adaptation of the Shakespeare's novel "Hamlet“. Roles played by Shadid Kapoor, Tabu & K K Menon and Irfan Khan's cameo were phenomena. It’s a cinematic piece of Bollywood brilliance.
Letters to Editor “Reading Fortune cookies is always a fun as it brings beautiful insights on what all activities happened the previous month, especially when you know that you contributed and others applauded. I specially liked sustainability initiatives and it was good too see that not only Jaagriti Club but faculty and staff also stood up whole heatedly for sustainability.”
Pratik Seth, 1st Year Student
Any interesting read you will suggest to everyone and why? One interesting read that I would suggest is "The Dum Dum Bullet: Real life lessons in Marketing & Advertising", by Sandeep Goyal (an avid Advertising professional who was instrumental in bringing the Japanese advertising major Denstu to India). The readers, particularly our students, can get insights into the corporate career of Advertising. Another book "Go Kiss the World-Life lessons for the Young Professionals", by Subroto Bagchi , Co founder of MindTree Ltd. portrays the journey of author from a small town in Patnagarh, Odisha to the Corporate World. Readers can reap couple of inputs from his success story. A piece of advice you would like to give to students I wish the students develop capacity in building a sustainable career. In their two years of study at FIIB, they should not restrict themselves to any single domain. Rather, they should try to integrate the concepts of Management and have clarity in thoughts & expressions. Describe FIIB in one word (In Assamese) Khub bhal jega", meaning a good/ideal place
Watch Out!- Our Next Issue The next edition of Fortune Cookies will be focused on activities in December which have kept the desks of Faculty and Staff busy and students’ schedule exciting!
