3 CHEERS TO FIIB ALUMNI!! Ms. Radhika Shrivastav, Executive Director (FIIB) wrote to FIIB Alumni thanking all who have graciously provided for the welfare of FIIB Community. Dear FIIB Alumni, There is something that I have been meaning to write to you all about. Business Today in their 2014 B-School Rankings conducted a Experiential Survey amongst alumni of all leading B-Schools. We have no input into this process by way of suggesting names of alumni that they can contact, facilitating the connect between the agency and alumni, etc. FIIB's ranking this year in this experiential part of the survey is 37th All-India! By the way, our overall ranking ranges from 32 to late-60's depending on which survey we refer to. But that's not important. What's important, and a huge moment of pride to me, is the positivity, connectedness and support that each one of you adds to making our community so rich and meaningful. Being 37th in the same line as the multiple IIMs and some other stellar institutions is humongous. That doesn't just happen by chance. That happens when the community collectively invests time in building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with each other. So thank you today to all those who have volunteered on various platforms or supported these initiatives through other means to bring the community together; Thank you to all the Alumni Board Advisory Members (current and previous); Thank you to all who have attended the events we have held that give us an opportunity to reconnect back. Best Regards Radhika Shrivastav

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: E-Waste Collection Drive Every year Jaagriti Club organizes a week long E-waste collection drive, wherein entire FIIB community is encouraged to discard their e-waste through a proper medium. Started on 27th October, 2014, this drive really turned out to be successful, with total collection of 92.36 Kgs. Faculty, staff, students and nearby RWA’s actively participated in the drive. In collaboration with Chintan- an NGO and a government authorized e-waste collection body; FIIB also organized a session on “Importance of recycling e-waste through proper channel.” Students learned how improper recycling of e-waste is affecting our natural resources and also turning out to be hazardous for people who work in informal recycling setup are prone to major diseases like cancer, TB, blindness, etc.

I never thought that this can cause damage to lives of so many people who are involved in recycling jobs. This session made me realize my mistake and I promise that I will discard my e-waste always through a proper channel.” Students attending st workshop with Ms. Samiksha Singla , 1 Student Ankita Hazarika, Manger, Chintan

“Avneet is very cooperative, responsible and sincere towards her work. One can learn Multitasking from her. Her personality adds positivity in an environment.” Mr. Neel Deshmukh – Academic Coordinator
FROM FIIB COMMUNITY In conversation with Ms. Avneet Kaur We understand it takes a great effort to coordinate the entire academic cycle of students at FIIB. How challenging it is to handle so much? At Program Office we are responsible for driving the program and ensuring it is in integration with the wider practices of the institute. Taking take care of all the academic related activities for the entire batch plus coordinating with the faculty is definitely challenging and one has to follow a systematic approach and has to prioritize things to keep the activities moving in a smooth manner. Your workplace seems really secluded? How do you feel about it? Well, this place for sure looks secluded but we have regular visitors here. Students do visit us at times whenever they have concerns related to their daily schedule of classes or exams. Since we deal really confidential data (dossiers, results especially) we feel that we have been aptly placed here. What you prefer to do, when you are low on work? The moment we finish with one term we have to start preparing for the other, at times there is no gap between the two which keeps us on toes. I prefer to manage my files/ documents whenever I get time. What is your favorite pastime? I love listening to Sufi songs and favorite singers are Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
