9TH Fiji Police Reunion celebrated with great success Ratu Meli Vakarewakubau, police commissioner honored by Dr. Koya AIM chair SACRAMENTO, CA- More than 30 former police officers gathered here at Jades Restaurant to
celebrate their 9th Reunion. Many travelled or flew from out of state. The occasion was graced by the presence of former Assistant Commissioner Paras Ram, Senior Superintendent of Police S K Mishra and all-time famous Ratu Meli Vakarewakubau the Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations. Speaking to the gathering Paras Ram explained how he worked up the rank “sometime being tough and sometimes being humble” while S K Mishra bragged how he made it to the top with his HSF degree. That’s High School Failed degree. Well S K Mishra is not the only, I was the first ever police officer to have defied all standards (by the grace of God) to be appointed Commissioner’s Cadet without Fiji Junior Certificate but I made up for it in later years through TAFE Diploma and PSA Scholarship to the University of South Pacific.
