Fiji Muslim team to explore Islamic Financial system

At a recently convened meeting of a select group of Fiji Muslims, members met to discuss Islamic Financial System with an aim to help all Muslims.
The team comprised of Hajji Mohammed Aiyub, Hanif Koya Muslim News editor), Hajji Mohammed Kadar, Markar Kadir (former police sergeant) and Hajji Sadiq Hussain. After the initial meeting held on July 22 at the Chandni Restaurant, the team will reconvene following the Eid celebration in September to unfold a complete plan. Team members have been requested to bring in their findings and do their presentations at the next exploratory meeting. In addition, the team members also agreed to assist in Al Madinah Academy‘s fundraiser and other social programs. Hajji Sadiq Hussain is already coordinating with Danville, Islamic Community to help during the Jumah prayers.

Fiji community lags behind in interfaith Speaking to FIJI SUN, interfaith leader Ben Vanktash expressed concern that Fiji Americans lag behind in the interfaith services. A two-time president of the Livermorebased Shiva Vishnu Temple, Vanktash is in the forefront in interfaith work. He is also a speaker with the INTERFAITH AMERICA led by the Fiji Sun editor. Ben said, “It’s time Fiji community took lead in interfaith service.”
