Innovation Team Key achievements and strategy analysis
The purpose of Innovation team: experimenting with new ways of delivering the AIESEC experience in order to make sure we deliver 1 000 000 experiences by 2015.
Main deliverables: Establishing Innovation in AIESEC The initial role of the Innovation team was to establish a culture of innovation in AIESEC. We needed a main process. And instead of using many complicated models we needed something simple that could unify the innovation team in our approach to projects. We follow an innovation framwork and under each stage of the process we have developed different practices (click on the stage to see more) Hypothesis

We needed a strong purpose and goals. Innovating the AIESEC experience can mean many things and we could get stuck researching everyday without having any tangible results or progress. One of the most important things for our success in last three months was establishing strong sense of the purpose. Question “What is the purpose?” became a regular catch phrase in any of our meetings. Any project that we are running needs to be contributing to our MoS in the long term and needs to be strongly aligned with the AIESEC and AIESEC’s impact model. Innovation team measures its success by the goals of the projects we have selected as the most impactful. For example, the Online Engagement platform based on our research has to bring an audience of 50 000 in the first implementation stage otherwise it cant support us in next years to deliver 1000 000 experiences by 2015. We suggest to an entity that is running innovation initiatives or project to follow a simple process with defined purpose for every project. Contact us with any questions regarding innovation

On the other hand, based on our experience of working on in innovation in AIESEC, the most incredible innovations come from the base level of the organization. Therefore we have decided to establish the Innovation bank, which is a place for collection of all the innovative ideas from AIESEC International and network in general. The Global Innovation Hub team in the Global Support Team is running the Innovation bank. This team will be working on collecting the ideas from the network in next months and selecting the most potential ideas to be run besides the main ideas driven in AIESEC International office.
Running Innovation projects (9 projects of Q3) Technical youth alliance partnerships for GIP EP supply Purpose: To contribute to the growth of our core Global Internship Programme through focused partnership with technical youth organisations. Piloting 15 LC partnerships for 300 EP realisations. Progress: We are exploring partnerships with predominantly european-based youth organisations - BEST, EESTEC, ESTIEM and IEEE. We are piloting a framework with 15 LCs from across a variety of countries to see if we can develop a local model for co-operation with these organisations.
Online Storytelling Platform Purpose: To build a new online product relating to the engagement with AIESEC phase of the AIESEC experience. Enabling AIESEC to attract a student audience OF 50,000 that is interested in exploring new cultures. We aim to attract 2000 of these to the ORS system. Progress: We have completed the research phase of the project and are building a prototype to be launched in November. We are very interested to get feedback from the AIESEC network and for AIESECers to test the platform very soon!!
