Campus police officers are not only here to enforce local, state, and federal laws, they are also here to ensure that the campus remains a safe place to gain a high-quality education. “We worry about the safety of the campus so you don’t have to.” Officers are certified to render medical first aid to those in need as a result of the National Red Cross training that is conducted for all of our officers through coordination with the Columbia campus. Officers on campus are encouraged to maintain their proficiency in various areas such as speed enforcement and community interaction by assisting other agencies in times of request/need.
