Don’t miss the chance to own this extraordinary home that promises a lifestyle of comfort, privacy, and tranquillity.
We were moving from a house in the country where we felt quite isolated and had realised that we wanted to be more involved in a village environment. We knew East Horsley quite well, so started our search here and we knew straight away that it was the one for us as the views from the windows and garden blew our socks off,” say the owners.
“Perfectly positioned in the centre of the village and with no near neighbours, the lovelace style house is beautiful and parts of it are some of the oldest in the village. It has a welcoming and cosy feel and our children called it the Gingerbread Cottage when they were young. The mix of old and new works well, as the newer, open plan part is ideal for day-to-day family life and entertaining, whilst the older part embraces us in its comfortable rooms and characterful features, such as the open fires and bread oven tucked away in the corner.”
“The location has met all of our needs as our family grew up. We are close to the train station which has good access to London, and our children had independence to go into Guildford with their friends. There is an amazing butcher just down the road, great cafes where I meet with friends for coffee, lovely restaurants and pubs, and a sports club with excellent tennis and cricket facilities. I also enjoy walking in the woods and countryside just behind the house.”
“We use the garden all year round as it’s such an irresistible draw where we relax, chat, and watch the weather, and wildlife, come and go. In winter we sit around the fire wrapped up in rugs and blankets, and in summer, we are outside until late in the evening; there’s no one around to disturb, so we can have our music as loud as we like. It’s a very pretty garden which doesn’t take a lot of work to look after which is another wonderful feature.”
“I love all of the rooms, especially those overlooking the lake. The open plan kitchen / dining area is filled with natural light and I absolutely adore my double AG A. We all end up gathered around the big centre island and what I like most about the property is that we can all be together but there’s space for us to be apart too. The family / music room is my go-to when in need of some peace and quiet; I light the stove and curl up with a good book or do yoga and meditate. The drawing room is a tranquil room too with double doors leading to the garden, and of course, those stunning views.”*
